Helpful or a Waste of Time?

Okay, I had a petpage that wasn't being used and wanted to do something hopefully helpful with it and unique. I thought of a lot of things but I know a lot of people have posted on here because they don't know what category they want to sell (I admit, I was one of those people). So... Do you think that a petpage that has different people's views on their category or the ones they've sold in the past would be helpful to others considering taking on a new category or wanting to improve the one they are in? Or at least be somewhat interesting? If you don't get what I mean, I kind of started it here: http://www.neopets.com/~imrealcrazy but if you all think it would be just a waste of time I won't bother with it anymore lol.

I think its a good idea. The only difficult task you'll have to do is probably just to get people to participate in it. What I mean by this is that, they'll have to invest some time off their usual schedule to fill those questions out so in return, you should have something to give back. One idea is to input their shop's url link after their comments so at least, they could get some hits from it.

i also think it's a good idea, and i think it could be a pretty successful page if you advertise it enough/whatever. and i think that people /will/ provide input, whether you link to their shop or not, but it /would/ be nice to do that in return. if you'd like i can provide a category review. :p just pm me or nm me on neo. {tincanman}

Yup that's be great. There are so many questions regarding that being asked here so yeah, would work as a great basic source of info. As for advertising, I'll link it from the mall guide toolbar ;)

That would be awesome. I haven't checked, but are you going to have it broken down by selling in general vs. selling in main market & so on? I would think it would be a bit of a difference, but that's JMO! I would be happy to put in any advice/review as needed.

Not only for extra exposure but the people who will use the page will probably want to see the shop in action. The only problem is that for those that will do more than one (because they've sold something different in the past or switch categories). If someone was looking Collectable shops and picked one that *used* to sell collectables but now does training, it probably won't help either of them. Hopefully you get that lol, I'm terrible at explaining things. I'll try to figure up something to get people linked without the confusion. Maybe a little note on what the shop sells now or only link after the category the shop currently sells. I'll have to check it every so often but it shouldn't be too bad. Here is the current form thing I've got worked up. # Category # Shop size # Mall or no mall # Time of year # Pros: # Cons: # Any other notes you think are important (like pages of stock, pricing strategies, whether you had a guide made, ect.) And I'll add in something about Marketplaces/huts to that and will probably break down the things in the "Other" section. Anything else you all think should be covered? Dmitri, that'd be awesome (: Andd... I just wanted to say thank you for the support and especially the offers to participate! As soon as I get the form and stuff all figured up so it covers all the different areas that affect sales, I'll get in contact with you all. Yeah, that's what I meant :) Cause say, someone who sells Paintbrushes with a shop size of 100 might have a terrible go of it. But then, you hear wonderful stories at main market and such :* Sounds like you've got your work cut out for ya! Gl :)

Sounds like a great idea! I did something similar with my personal ratings of different shops but my computer died and I lost all the info:( Still having different views from different people and how well a category did for them or not is a great idea. You might want to add something like how time consuming it was to restock and whether they rs'd from the shops or SSW and how often and that sort of thing. Good luck and let us know when you've got more up.

Oh yeah, and how long they have been malling that spot too. (and if possible, the time frame) since someone who's been malling a crap spot in the summer might still do better than someone who's malling a better spot in september or january for example

I didn't mean that you should organize your neopet's page on their current category. I meant that you could link to their shop after their comments. For instance, you could organize each and every person's comment in a table form, where each table is designated for one person's comment about their shop.
