Today I learned that heart failure can potentially result in anemia because proinflammatory cytokines are increased during inflammation (and inflammation occurs in heart failure) because it a) inhibits the effect of erythropoietin production (which decreased the production of red blood cells) and b ) inhibits the absorption of iron in the intestine. 200 words to my paper done! I also learned that 3.5 hours only gets me 200 words :P
