Should I add clothes?

Currently I have wearables and fire faerie quest items stocked in my shop and have been considering adding non-quest and non-wearable clothing. The only concerns I have are that they would take away from my sales of wearables as clothing seems to fill the first several pages of stock, pushing wearables to the back, and that clothes wouldnt be that great of a seller. Anyone with experience selling both clothing and wearables have any advice? Thanks.

If people really want the wearabes, they'll look for them. I sell clothing, wearables, grooming, and backgrounds, and all of them get sold. The Fire Faerie quest items get sold. The Wearables get sold. The grooing items get sold (quest item or not.) I'd say go for it! It can only bring more exposure to your shop, and with adding regular clothing to the wearables, you could stock the Fire Faerie position, which could lead to bookmarks to your shop, which could lead to more profit. :) EDIT: I re-read your post, sorry, didn't understand what you meant the first time! I have a pricing guide in the front of my shop (clothing ends in 3, wearables end in 4, grooming ends in 5, backgrounds end in 7) so people will know whether or not a certain piece of clothing is wearable or not. I find that the regular clothing doesn't sell *as* well as the wearables, but they still get sold. Gallery collectors, I'm assuming. *** Grooming, wearables, backgrounds, clothes, Fire & Air Faerie Quest items! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall & Celestial Colours Guild!

I would just stock the quest clothes and the cool/frilly/neat-in-its-own-way clothes that will grab attention from the customers.

I wouldn't myself. I used to sell the whole lot, and not only was it terribly time consuming, but it affected my wearable sales. My profits overall were pretty much the same as the items were selling, but I wasn't selling anywhere near as many wearables. I also got mail far too often about what is wearable and what isn't. It's a huge hassel. If you don't mind the extra work though and don't mind if some stuff will never sell then go for it. ___________ Kirsty, aka evil super mod Sniper, maller, restocker Silverdragon siggy stealer Best wearables shop owner ever!

I agree with Kirsty that the ton of mail you get from confused customers is a good reason not to add extra non-wearable clothing to your shop. I've never sold just wearables, so I can't comment on the difference in stocking/profits/etc. I stock wearables, backgrounds, fire faerie and clothing and don't mind the clothing part. There are quite a few items that are pretty cheap and that I have trouble keeping in stock. I don't have a ton of NPs so I like having cheap items that help fill out my shop and make a decent profit since I cannot afford to stock the pricier wearables (yet). I have a pricing comment in my shop "Only items with prices ending in 8 are wearable" but still get neomails complaining about non-wearable clothing. I just calmly point out the comment in my shop and offer to buy back anything they mistakenly bought. It usually shuts them up. If I had the choice to drop the non-faerie clothing, I'm not sure what I would do.

That's why I have a pricing guide in my shop. it ends in 3 for regular clothes, 4 for wearables, 5 for grooming and 7 for backgrounds. If people don't read it, that's their own fault. *** Grooming, wearables, backgrounds, clothes, Fire & Air Faerie Quest items! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall & Celestial Colours Guild!

Thanks for everyones advice, and sorry it took me so long to respond as I have been rather busy. I have decided to not add the non fire faerie quest clothing and just stick with wearables and fire faerie.
