Gourmet Food - Hts?

I am starting to make my shop purely gourmet food. Is it hard to sell though?

Never really did gourmet foods before but I can almost guarantee regular foods would do better. Gourmet foods are kind of expensive for newbies and seriously, what noob would care about getting into the gourmet club? ____________________________________ Looking for a new mall? I just cleared out my shop of foods/bakery.... It was boring, and I got no profit from it.

I need a category that doesnt require ssw... and makes profit.

Gourmet foods are usually too pricey to be a good "mall" shop - ideally, you'd have a stock that is a good balance of inexpensive and pricey. If you want a big profit category, try something like Wearables or Training. I've always enjoyed stocking Battle and either Magic or Training items, myself. Though Magic and Meds aren't particularly high-profit arenas, they are certainly fun to find.

However I find it especially noticeable as I have had the ssw sometimes. Stocking larger categories, especially the popular ones with the sw takes a lot of dedication. ___________ Kirsty, aka evil super mod Sniper, maller, restocker Silverdragon siggy stealer Best wearables shop owner ever!
I need a category that doesnt require ssw... and makes profit.
Food and Bakery was the category because that food can be RS'd very easily compared to the other categories I have tried whereas gourmet foods rarely if ever restock in shops (r90-100). It's a specialized category which means fewer people to buy it and they only buy one of each item for the trophy so price it by SW (buy with SSW and price it with SW) and you'll sell it fine and with good profit (eventually). Don't buy too much at once because Tarla, Key Quest and other give-aways are murder for gourmet foods. Even still if the price drops buy a ton and the price will return with time (a year or more sometimes). I wouldn't worry about newbies because they have few neopoints generally but buying gourmet food was the one thing I did spend neopoints on as a new player. ~ Mimi ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ temps_bons graphics ~ http://www.neopets.com/~Mimi_Miaulement

I restock food quite often, and all of the items under 10k sell relatively easy. As in, 1 day or less. Anything over that though takes LONGER to sell. I've had a watermelon roll (22k) in my shop for about 2 days.

And am making a nice profit for my size, I believe. And I do not have nearly everything I want, stocked. I get a lot of mass buyers, though. Like all cupcakes, cakes, etc...and lots of bookmarks already! Hmm, good luck finding your niche!

Before I just sold everything, I had over 10 pages. It was just driving me crazy because I only had a handful of items that regularly sold.... the rest just sat there and deflated.

I really dont know what I should do right now. I am size 365, and want to get past main market. I want a profitable shop that sells well. Plus, I want a category that isnt always full in main market.
