Deactivate my Neomallers account?

2024-08-21 Duplicate sales date entry Issue

 A temporary patch has been applied to hopefully address this issue (A more permanent fix is in the works). Unfortunately, if you are already experiencing this issue, we need to manually clear that date. The patch will now attempt to merge the conflicting entries. Please neomail dmitri_stanislaus or post on our new subreddit. That being said, it is recommended you keep a copy of your sales history for a week or so. (we are currently addressing issues with the database)

I misspelled my username for the counter, so now it's messed up and I can't change or delete it... Is there a way to deactivate my account or counter?

Sorry the most we can do is disable the account. We don't delete accounts because the delete button is broken and I'm too lazy to fix it.

I don't get why it's so important to delete/deactivate accounts? I don't get why people just don't sign in? I don't mean this in a mean way, I'm just actually confused.

I can understand. The internet is a semi-permanent record of random stuff you've done throughout life. I can still read old usenet posts I wrote from 20 years ago. There are times I'd like to be able to just clean up all those left behind posts, accounts, e-mail addresses, etc. So much of the internet is just 'dead weight' (or 'an archive of the unimportant, useless, and irrelevant') at this pint, those of us who would LIKE to expunge all of that leftover garbage get frustrated that we CAN'T. Unfortunately, many systems are not built with 'removal' of content in mind. Even if you delete an account, often times it means all related stuff stays. It just gets complicated when removal requests come along... Should just the account itself be removed? Or all posts that went along with it? What if they started the thread, does the whole thread go away too? How does indexing of stuff we SHOULD keep work if we remove the account itself but leave content? And then you have the Way Back machine and search engine caches keeping copies of it all, backups done by the administrator, service provider, and the monkeys uncle....

I need assistance please. I am only just getting back into malling after a massive hiatus. Prior to my hiatus I made an account on here tbrennans to match my neopets username but I changed emails and that account is long gone. So about 3 years ago I made this account now. However, becauseI made that previous account I am now unable to create a new counter on this account. Is there some way you are able to assist me?

For password resets, please neomail my account "dmitri_stanislaus" and then i can have it reset.
