As far as I'm aware, trades are all going through as normal (I've traded approximately 10-15 lots today). Thanks for the tips everyone. I've usually got some form of unbuyable up for trade (not at the moment). People will always find new loopholes in programming, just the same as the programmers will patch up holes that get discovered. It's just a constant 'battle' that we all need to be aware of. You're never truly safe, but the level of safety does increase a little after each rebuild of their scripts... even if that does make our lives a little bit harder (with limits on what we can post as well as glitches). People can find out fairly readily who has lots of neopoints. You simply need to visit the battledome chat, the stock market board, the shop ads board, the notice boards, or the marketplace. And people do talk.. I've seen enough "who's got the most NP" boards in the forums where people boast about how much they have or talk about knowing someone with lots of NP. Generally, the longer someone's been playing and the more 'full' their lookup/account is (trophies, shop size, avatars, neohome contents, gallery, etc), the more NP they have. It's relatively easy to work out who's wealthy by watching the site and checking out specific accounts. But saying that, I've made no secret of my wealth, and I don't get hassled for NP or contacted with dodgy neomails. I regularly post my stock port size (1.6 million shares) and the only queries I get are from people who want tips. The same for my item investment strategies (over 500 million NP worth in items), and people nearly always want investment advice rather than a free ride. I should mention that I post my successes in order for people to contact me and get advice. Only rarely does it stir up someone begging for a handout, and only a couple of times (in near 10 years) has someone approached with off-site links (which may have been legit). I think most of the danger from 'hacked' accounts comes from using common email (hotmail / gmail, etc) addresses and having some connection to the person trying to get into your account. CG and malicious scripts do pose a threat, but that can be readily avoided by using the right browsers and not following odd links. But who are we to talk... we're all on a technically 'off-site' neopets website, and many/most of use use our neopets usernames. So an example of a connection to someone trying to get into your account would be neomallers :) they've got a username, an email address, and some other specific details about you. It's common knowledge that some email systems are breakable. You only need to search for 'how to hack hotmail' to get a range of techniques. Link the user to an email, and you're mostly there. I'm mentioning this mostly as a precaution for people. You should generally use a different email address (if not a different username) when signing up for neopets related sites. Or use a secure paid email account. As far as I'm concerned, Neomallers is safe, but there are sites out there that can (and do) work in underhanded ways. Yes, I tend to carry on a bit in my messages. :) hope my ramblings informed and entertained.
