The NP Sinks
Speaking of that and games, the 10x event from the end of last year... I can remember that playing games was actually worthwhile during that, pulling in 120k+ a day just from games. That had huge effects -------------------------------------------------------------- The STUFF - Mainly Codestones @ reasonable prices http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=whispering_acara&misc
I remember when they did the whole 10x games per day. That really helped. I brought in about 100k a day, maybe more, but of course, I blew it :|

Personally, I think they should increase the amount of times you can submit your score to 5 times per game, per day. If that won't happen, maybe increasing the amount of NP per game to 1,500 NP.

The more money coming into the economy from games, the higher all prices are (Except all the junk items at 1np). What neopets is trying to do is take the neopoints out of circuit. If the price of everything goes up, there either needs to be a way to pay for it, or make the price go down, though to make it easier to buy you'd need more np by them changing things to 5X a day. Instead of making a chain that causes us to eventually be able to earn millions a day from games... and items as simple as strawberry jelly being worth 6 million ;), then they make np sinks that reverse that effect, taking np out of the economy and causing things to cost less. Did that make much sense? Sometimes I babble on in my head faster than I type and what my fingers say doesn't come out right *lol* --- From the land where Funny is a smell and Peachy is an emotion...
I havent been able to confirm it really, but I believe the ATTIC is also contributing to the deflation... At least, I can only assume Acara Twin Blade is one of the items that stocks there, as I can remember not even being able to touch it for under 4m, and a few months ago I snagged two for 1.5m each... I also picked up several Acara MPs for way cheaper than they ever had been... But it could of just be random, or me being very lucky... Either way, there definently is an upset with the economy at the moment -------------------------------------------------------------- The STUFF - Mainly Codestones @ reasonable prices http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=whispering_acara&misc
Speaking of the Attic, I've never actually understood what that was supposed to be. Is it like the smuggler's cove where rare items stock to buy, except this doesn't have any of those weird 100 only rules or something? Also, how can I find it? I've been hearing about it for a couple months now and am always confused when people mention it. :D --- From the land where Funny is a smell and Peachy is an emotion...

Attic can be found here: http://www.neopets.com/halloween/garage.phtml Basically its like a main shop that restocks stuff from all over neopia. All you have to do is click on the item and click ok to buy it. There is no haggling involved here. It restocks a bit like the Kadoatery, where a restock pends every 7 minutes, and its always 0:53 seconds past the minute. You can only buy 5 items per day from the attic.. http://www.neopets.com/neoboards/topic.phtml?topic=142924694 That neoboard should have all the info you need and the pending restock times.

The wheels would of been a better sink, if it did not give prizes back. In that sense, the amount sunk would be from those with big enough egos to keep sinking in order to be known on the top donators list. I think I put in a total of 30k, just for giggles. As mentioned, as great as increasing NP from games would seem to be, it would only inflate prices of most items, just as the 10x event did. For the attic, yup, a possible restock happens every 7 minutes, at :53. Possible because sometimes it can go 3 rounds or more with no restocks. I have not discovered a real list of what it exactly restocks, but it restocks stuff anywhere from under 1k to 800k+ in worth, but the price it charges, is whatever price TNT has put on the item (aka 'Est. Value' field in the items info page). So for example, if a Scarab Ring happened to stock there, its price would be 50k, which would be a total loss. Buying is as simple as buying from a user shop, you click, then it gives the popup asking if you want to buy. So in other words, click and hit enter real fast. The only downfall, is there is no confirmation you bought an item, so you have to attempt to buy what you think will be profitable, and either watch your NP on hand, or just keep trying to buy other stuff (since the stock clears in a matter of seconds). The Neopian Economy is an interesting one, just as interesting as TNT's antics to attempt to regulate it. In the end, there is one underlying reason its so highly regulated. The same reason is also why everything else in Neopia is regulated. I'll leave that up to you to guess, but I'll give you a hint - it deals with marketing and statistics -------------------------------------------------------------- The STUFF - Mainly Codestones @ reasonable prices http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=whispering_acara&misc
