Changing categories from toys to food?

Hey guys. I was wondering if you could give me some advice here! I'm in the Nursery malls and doing the Toys/Plushies category in the Nursery branch. There's a spot open in the Preschool branch (one branch down) for Food/Drinks, a category I've ALWAYS wanted to do. It's a very popular category, so I've gotta be quick in deciding. I'd have a lot of plushies that I'd need to sell off though, and that's kinda putting me off.

Honestly I would not consider moving at this time. The economy is down the drain even main market branches are struggling. Going down to a lower branch would cause you to have even fewer sales. But what do I know ;) Have gone on a semi hatus for the past month and a half.

Well how are the mallers in the mall you are looking to step into? Are they active? Are they current with their banners? Are they stocking their shop? Is this mall a branch down from where you currently are? There are more questions than just the actual category change. I think a move to food would be an excellent change from the toys category. Food disappears after they eat it unlike toys, they stay around after you play with them. With my experience a mall and category has to fit your personality. If the mall and category you are looking at fits you than do it. Be sure to ask your mall supervisor lots of questions so you are understanding how the all works. Meaning stuff like advertising, stock, banners, etch. If it doesn't work out, you can always change malls or keep your eye open for another opportunity. Hope that helped a little!

I've already decided on changing. :-) It's the same mall, the same people, the same rules. Just a different branch. There's not a huge difference in shop sizes between my current branch and the one below it, so I don't think it will matter that much for traffic! I've thought about the one use thing too. I wish plushies were one use. XD
