I'm not itunes smart, can someone help?
I have never downloaded music from places like itunes or napster before. I do not own an ipod, and do not plan to own an ipod as my cheapie mp3 player has been great for me. With limewire gone I'm guessing I need to find a place for music. So I have some questions: Do itunes only play on ipods? I'm too cheap to buy one and I was sure that the itunes format was player specific. My player can do mp3 and wma can songs be used on more than one player? My daughter likes some of the same songs, and I don't want to have to pay twice for the same song. Cheap again! LOL Can songs be burned to cd? My car has an adapter for my player to play in but it sucks the player battery dry in a half hour, so if I want to listen in my car I would burn cds instead Is there any benefits to itunes vs napster? Any help/opinions/experiences would be great to help me decide!!! ~Nell

well, i have an ipod so i use itunes, but you don't need to have an ipod i believe. Also, usually, i download off youtube, manual convert the files to mp3 so that's how i do it. Sorry, can't help you with the other option because i don't know about it. Yes, you can burn CD's from itunes.

Just so you know, itunes for windows is abit slow. Songbird is usually better and yes itunes plays everything. However, what you buy on itunes can be only used with itunes unless you decode the DRM (anti copy) and such. I get my music off 4shared.com (i dont use their search engine - it sucks) I just google the song name and add 4shared to the end of the search query ----------------------------- Contrary to popular belief, the Irish and I are not married

If you dont own a IPod, you can download music and lisen to it on your computer. I am not sure that you can download it to a mp3 player, I dont think so but dont quote me I never owned a mp3 player. All I own is a IPod and IPhone. But ITunes you have to pay money. I trust the site because you dont get bugs or any bad virus. Limewire and all the other music sites are at risk for that. I dont even go on that for risk of my computer crashing. If you dont mind spending a little money ITunes is the way to go. You can get all your music, movies, tv shows, ringtones, aps and a few other goodies there too. ITunes is free to download. The music various on artist and how popular from .99 to $1.99 or so and movies and other things vary too. Some aps are free and some you pay for. Podcasts are free. Hope this helps. ~Christine
