We just had a small earthquake here in Japan last week. I want to say it was a 5.2. Within a half an hour there was another quake I think it was a 4.8. Not as strong but still felt. It woke me up at just after 11 pm. I live in an apartment building on the 4th floor. The bed was shaking and the glass door rattling. If that was happening with a 5.2 I can't imagine what happens with a 6 or better is doing. Prayers and thoughts to everyone there. Hopefully they will get aid to them quickly and get them on a road to recovery and some piece of mind to move forward. A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way!

The quake yesterday is considered to be an aftershock from the september 4th earthquake, as well as being strong enough to be a parent to many aftershocks to come. You get used to them eventually, but it's going to take a long time to get used to them again. My cats are still freaking out with every small tremor, where before, they eventually got so used to them that they wouldn't even bother getting up. It's a scary time for everyone -- many people are still waiting to hear about friends & coworkers. :(

There have been more earthquakes in Christchurch, New Zealand my heart and prayers go out to them The first was 5.8 and hit at 1.58pm today, followed by a 5.3 quake at 2.06pm. At 2.14pm there was a 4.2 magnitude one but the largest was 6.0 and struck at 3.18pm. It was followed by a 5.0 magnitude jolt at 3.50pm, and continuing.

My friend has just moved back to New Zealand and has been feeling earthquakes and tremors all day. Things are happening everywhere at the moment including floods, tornado and now Darwin is expecting a Cyclone within the next few days.
