Japan. Shaken, Washed and then Blown what next.
I feel for the horrific incident which has happened in Japan. All the loved ones from all parts of the earth who have been affected by this disaster. 730 dead already and thousands more missing. I had a friend who was in the district of Sendai but luckily his trip was a week scheduled before this phenonemom. I pray for all those who are still trapped or heavily affected families who have lost most of their relatives. The photos i have seen on the news are making my heart explode and thinking how on earth is anyone going to get through this. Damages are well beyong measuring atm. All we can hope for is less violent aftershocks, no more tsunami and hopefully radiation is out of the question with more nuclear explosions expected. Take care Japan Bryan

Also on a equakequake scale the overall impact of the first quake has just risen to a 9.0 quake.

I had to stop watching the news...the footage of the tsunami was like something out of a movie. My heart seriously hurts thinking about all the lives forever changed by this event. Japan is in my heart & thoughts.

It's horrible, I had a friend who was in Japan on a holiday but he thankfully was able to move inland before it struck (and is ok!).

the movie 2012 is a joke designed to play on human paranoia. All that was was a remake of Day After Tomorrow and Deep Impact. Gotta love Hollywood directors who hit panic buttons. Chad's Pretty Palace http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=desperately_yours&misc

I think raquza is referring to 2012 because that's when the a large cycle of the Mayan calendar ends, and when many people believe the world will end. Not because of the movie 2012 ^_^ That belief has been around for a while, but nothing about it is credible. I personally don't believe it, but doomsayers are definitely everywhere now with the two powerful earthquakes happening in such quick succession.

Hey Guys! I live in Okinawa Japan. Earthquakes are nothing new for us out here at all. We get them all the time. Last week there were several earth quakes alone even before the two big ones on Friday. There was one on Wednesday that probably no one heard about. It was like a 7.2. That's a pretty sizable quake. But if it's not something that sells the news no one ever knows. I do hope that they continue to cover the people of Japan during their recover. The people of Japan are an amazing group of people. Their work ethics and their heritage put America to shame 10 fold. The people of Japan are going to come shining through on this and make a speedy recover. As am American I am thankful to be out here and even more thankful that my children are old enough to see it too so they can use it as they are growing up to be a better person! I was amazed to hear that the tsunami also hit Hawaii and California. Being that we are right next door to Japan and didn't get anything, I realized at that moment how fortunate we really were. Still counting my lucky stars:) A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way!

I know I've already told you, but I'm really happy you're ok, Jean! I know Japan gets frequent earthquakes, but the magnitude of that one and the aftermath is very severe. I also have a lot of respect for Japanese culture (most of it) and I'm sure they will band together and come out of this even stronger, but even for them it could take a good amount of time. The destruction that took place is immense.

the 2012 remark was just a joke. Also reports of a volcano erupting yesterday at Japan? Good to know you are well Jean.
