Make a mall or possibly join someone elses- which would be a better idea?
lately ive been debating about starting my own mall. im good at working with coding i do know how to set up a shop banners codding from one of the templates here. i kno about linking and all that and also i kno what requirements i want in another neopet shop but the huge problem that i see is the recruitment of others to join me. its pretty hard i have tried setting up a guide line page for what i want on my pets page and trying to step forward with an attempt heres the link to the page: http://www.neopets.com/~keleshi i wouldnt have a problem joining another existing mall and upgrading my shop to be its requirements (aslong as i dont lose too many neopoints - im a saver lol). but the problem with that is that i kno my sibling would want to join me aswell and she doesnt have as many nps as i do or the ability to upgrade or restock like i do. which would be a better idea, starting my own mall or joining someone elses? *unsure* any advice would be lovely ps: atm my shop size is only 30

It all depends on what you want to spend your time doing. I help run a line of malls. Let me tell you it is a lot of work. Constant work often taking away from my playing time on neopets. If you are running the mall then you are running the mall. To do it well it will need to come first all the time. If you want to work with your shop to make neopoints than that can be your focus. Being in a mall is supposed to make you more neopoints not cause you to lose any. Notice Board ads are to bring you in more neopoints not cause your neopoints earned to go away. All in all it is a game and there are loads of different malls out there doing different things. So if you can't find one that is working like you want it too than the answer may be to make your own. Hope that helped o_0 A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way!

Devotion is the key. If you have a lot of skill, experience and time to kill. Why not give a mall a try? My cousin and I tried one but we just didnt have the time. Also if you do decide to make one dont be frustrated. Learn from mistakes and patience would also help develop your mall. Good luck for the future Escalis. Get all the basic stuff done first Rules Shop Size requirements A few strong members to start off Ads when the mall gets bigger and then move on to techy things like graphics. Dont get ahead of yourself. :D

That way, you get first hand experience+research so to speak. On the other hand, i started malling mostly as manager. Couldnt stand the rules others mall had, especially with regards to out of category items (since i was a restocker) so i took leadership of a dying mall and played by my own rules 0:-) ----------------------------- Are you protected? http://www.neopets.com/~punchback_bob CG information & more

Im not sure. Galitare mostly guided me around in Pets Paradise when i took ownership of the junior malls but when exams came up for me the mall died. Im not sure i have the time to start it up again but that idea might pass through my head some time in the future.

I've been the manager of the Playground branch since November. I ran the Kindergarten branch but running more than one mall/branch at a time is too time-consuming...for those of you who manage to do it, hats off to you. Sure, everyone wants to make a mall - so many of the little ones die maybe a week later. It's much less work (but it's still a lot of work!) to be a manager of an already established mall with a good reputation because the recruiting piece isn't your job as much. I get tons of mails a day...so my advice to you if you wanna start/lead a mall is have a LOT of patience for n00bs, since you will get plenty of them especially if your minimum shop size is low. *lol*

Haha you're not the n00bs I get. Mine look more like this: I get the geniuses who are size 5 wanting to join a 150+ mall...>.>" I tell them no and they say I'm mean for not letting them in. Read the rules, silly gooses. XD Or they say they were "wrongly frozen" and rebuilding and they have a 2 day old account and a size 100 shop and some intensely hard to get game avatar. My question is if you have that young of an account, where are you getting all that money? :P Sure you didn't transfer all your money then self-ice? *unsure* I've accepted two of those in the past..they were the right size but one got himself "re-frozen", the other quit because he realized malling isn't millions of NP a day.:P So yes, I'm biased against n00bs in terms of account age and n00bs who just can't read. The smaller your mall's minimum size, or if you manage the smallest branch, the more n00bs you will encounter. :K

ikr. The most commonly used sentence a whinger uses is. You are so mean and stuff like that. I wish neo could have like a good behaviour bond and reduce your suspension time. The account im using should already be frozen as the last time i did something wrong they gave me a 108 hour ban and i am pretty sure that is more than what the rules say. I havent done anything wrong in neo for like 1 year but im always scared that would soon happen and i wont get another chance. AND the most furious thing that always makes me get in trouble is this n00bs pissing me so much i just want to get a RPG and blow their stupid n00b brains up. I miss my n00b mails havent got one for ages. I think the last one was You should be my neofriend. :) :P I always give out prizes :D to neofriends that give prizes to me and are also kind to me. :) Also can you sell me your faerie paint brush for 99k since we are friends... :P and im like to myself. This is the first time you have ever talked to me... never replied kept the n00b hating fury inside me :D
