Hey there,
I've spent a long time creating a unique and original theme for my mall and I think I have succeeded. I would love your feedback, comments and criticisms on my Banner and my unique shop banner.

It's nice but it takes far too long to load (1022k)
Switch to JPEG and it will load much faster (<200k)
What i usually do is:
Design all the vectors in Adobe Illustrator. Import the vector graphics into Photoshop. Do all the effects like color correction, gradients, lighting, blurring, transparency etc.
Save that as TIFF (LZW) without layers since it retains all the quality. . It gives a 1400 kB file. (You can also save this in photoshop as JPEG to give a 268 kB file but we can go abit further)
Open that TIFF file in Fireworks and re-save it as JPEG. It gives you a 160 kB file at 60% quality, and the result is very comparable. Bump it up to 65-70% and it gives the exact same results, 180 kB file.
Whatever you do, do not use GIF unless you /need/ animations. I know some malls use GIF exclusively and their banners are massive in size and look absolutely disgusting and laughable. 0:-)
Hope this helps!

It looks great, though like our administrator said, it takes a while to load, especially on computers like mine :D. Have fun with it.
