Submit Shop Front is Not Tracking Inventory Properly
1. Operating System & Language Ex: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit 2. Browser & Version Ex: Firefox 11.0 English A few days ago I had to do a system restore and afterward my portal was working just fine. The following day, I finished restocking for the night and left my portal up. The next morning I noticed that my portal had crashed and when I opened it, things seemed just fine; however, after pasting my shop front I noticed that the amount of NP in stock was much lower than what was actually there. Whenever I paste my shop front, I'm being told that 1) I only have about 2 mil in stock when I know I normally have between 9-10mil 2)I'm being told that items that are in stock (and I'm confirming that they're being pasted) are out of stock. I've tried uninstalling everything twice with nothing working. I <3 my portal and it greatly enhances my game play, I deeply miss it :(. Can someone help me with this? Thank you!

*Just got it working. I went in and deleted the users file and replaced it with one I had on a back-up and it's working fine. :)

That is odd. I know Portal likes to misbehave on its own every now and then for no reason. Im guessing something gets corrupted in memory and then proceeds to write corrupted data to the hard drive. The database as of portal 10 does have self healing functionalities but every now and then, something will still mess up. Currently, the portal will crash completely and lose the current data it was working with (I figured it would be better to lose the last pasted data than proceed and risk corruption to the database system) Serves me right for using a coding platform that is over 14 years old lol. But yeah, backup = win. Speaking of backups, Portal 11 will implement built in "snapshots" so in the case of data corruption, it will be easier to go back to a previous date. Of course, all this will happen transparently so the user does not have to do anything. ----------------------------- Are you protected? http://www.neopets.com/~punchback_bob CG information & more
