I think it's because we now have a means of measuring how much exposure ads provide, people are eager to see how it plays out.

With all the Independent Ads, I almost gave up being in a mall. Since I have been using the counter, and knowing that much more hits are coming from my mall members than the nb, I am staying with my mall. :D I wonder how many individuals are staying with these new ads, or if people are just trying it out. Also, will we see a drop in the ads in June with the AC? I know that my March sales were terrible with the DD. *sigh* Sorry for bringing up more questions and not having any answers, I haven't been malling long enough. Thanks for bringing up the topic, though, I was also wondering if all the new ads were a new thing. :)

I think that alot of popping up but they wont all stay. Ive seen lots die out really quickly as well

I can't say how DD affected me in march as I wasn't around much due to family stuff going on. April really improved with total sales of 10+ mil (please don't ask about actual profit as I spent several mil over several days trying to restock the shop - and the downloadable prtal always crashes after inital installation and never wants to run again on my system. This has happened with 2 release versions so I give up on the program). With the AC coming up it does tend to hurt sales somewhat, but also family vacations during these summer months (at least for those of us in the Norther Hemisphere :D ). Expect sales to drop off most of this month as it's time for final exams and kids trying to get those last minute A's on the report cards.

Yeah it scares me a bit as well. There used to be 3 or 4 days where only TML or Roo malls posted, but now there seems to be at least 2 ads most day. Its kind of a gamble whether you'll make profit or not o-o scary

I never thought the 4 mil ads did much good, unless it happens to be first then it is worth it. I've been in several ads & with the help with this site (thank you so much Dmitri) I know now they may not be worth it, unless it's a weekend ad. I've been in a few ads during the week that was in first place & it seems my hut is bringing in the about the same amount of visits during the week. Today the ad I'm in is the first one & my stats: Hut 66 - Ad 60. Yesterday again the ad I was in was first place my stats: Hut 169 - Ad 463 So I think they will eventually die out if people see results like I have. But that is just my opinion & these stats are just for the last 2 days.
