I think spamming is obscuring the main page (whatever it is) with the same post or info in a different way over and over which runs the other topics to a different page. I don't consider it spamming for a user to post the same info on their own thread repeatedly but when they put their same topic on multiple threads or main pages...yep. Back when the internet was invented & distributed, *ahem, I am old* spamming was a program/virus that completely filled your screen with characters so that it crashed the board or made it impossible for anyone else to post on it. THAT was ANNOYING! Often you had to reboot your computer or modem it was so terrible. I don't mind when other players post thier link on my board it just means i have to bump it less my idea of spam <~~~~~~~~~~

I'm usually quite happy when people post their links on my boards, so long as I've had time to put a big line of ":D"s in the second post so no one sees it.

I've actually neomailed the neopets about what spamming actually is. One of the staff had responded on my question if bumping is a spam and they have told me that bumping your thread every minute is a spam. And once you get warned from the neopetsteam and if somehow, you do it again, your account will get frozen. So I try to bump my thread every 3 minutes or more. You're in for a surprise.
