Trojans in portal.exe (false positive)

This was on the old forums but thought it would be best to transfer it over here.
TrendMicro Anti-virus will detect the portal.exe file as a trojan however this is a false positive since it detects every program coded in Visual Basic 6 as a trojan (and every cookie as spyware) I'm currently not aware of any workaround but uninstalling it might be the only fix though you might have troubles uninstalling it too. TrendMicro protects itself from being uninstalled using some kind of a encrypted password (which by the way, is very easy to crack) so if you're having troubles getting rid of it, google it
As for anti-virus programs, go for AVG-Free. It's an anti-virus that's free (unlike trend micro) and actually works when you get a real virus. I also found that TrendMicro screws around with Nvidia's graphics driver and since you have to pay for this anti-virus that doesnt work, errr. yeah. *unsure*
Gonna sticky this topic.
