Shop Front value vs. Daily Profit

I hope the title made sense xD Okay. I have the Paintbrush category in a (small) mall. I stock Pbs, petpet pbs, and morphing potions. According to the Portal: 290 item(s) stocked totalling 12,616,092 NP (Based on data averaged from 11/08/2009 to 17/08/2009) Items Sold: 14 Sales : 829,485 NP Costs : 759,757 NP Profits : 69,728 NP ( 09.2% ) It just seems.... odd. 70k profit a day (maybe a little more) for 12m worth of stock? Is that normal?

D'oh, forgot I can't edit first posts, sorry for the double post! This falls under malling partly because... I'm considering switching categories (is it just my category that's this bad?) And I'm wondering -- if I sold my stock, upgraded to at least Spooky Market & used the remaining np (5-6m) to stock a different category, would I get better profit, or have a better profit/ shop front ratio? Thanks :D

I'm quite surprised you are making that much considering your shop size, it's been ages since i've been under market size, but i'd say thats pretty good :O

Yeah, you make a good amount of profit. Based on that, I'd say just stick with the category since you're doing well.

Well... I've been in a 4m NB ad the past week. So subract 280k from the total weekly profit... and you end up with just 30k a day net profit. So, ya :/ I should have mentioned that. Does that change anything?

I really don't think 30k a day is something to complain about either at your size. Many categories require a lot of neopoints to be invested in stock, so you probably wouldn't be better off in the sense of ditching to stock something cheaper while also hoping for higher profits. Meanwhile I don't think selling off to reach spooky would lead to you making more in the long run, just my opinion though, like I said, been years since I was that size

Okay.... The wearables spot in my mall might be opening, I thought I might make more with that. I just (can) make 200k+ a day from non malling, non-RSing sources, so 30k a day seems like a pittance. I hadn't thought about how much I'd have to make to compensate for upgrading, thanks!

Well if it were a change to wearables i'd say go for it then :) Thats where the profits are, and you can probably make quite a nice profit (more than now i'd say) if you do it right. However to stock wearables to the complete max, which helps profits, it takes millions. I used to have the best stocked wearables shop (until I sold it all to do a huge upgrade :P) anyway my shop value was 55 mil. Now it's like 9 *lol* i'll get it back up one day.

I agree that if you're making even 30k a day on shop size 80, you're doing well! :) Wearables definitely has the potential to be more profit, but be aware that it's a pretty busy category in terms of stocking/restocking. Pricing changes a *lot* so you have to stay on top of it to really max your profits... so I'd say if you are online a lot, restocking twice or more a day, etc, then go for it! But if you want a quieter spot, you're probably better off where you are.

Well, I'm housebound, so I'm home a lot. thank you SO much guys. Now I need to decide... Do I do Pbs/ Mps & Wearables/backgrounds, OR do I do wearables, grooming & clothing. With the second one, I could just restock at the main stores.... Hm. I don't have enough experience to know how much I can restock. Right now I'm selling 8-30 items a day :/ Is there any benefit to having EVERY time in your shop wearable? I'm asking a lot of questions xD thanks so much guys!
