Tell me what you think...

I hate how junky my shop looks with all the links and stuff so I am making a mini clickable banner to organize all the links I have. Please look at this and tell me what you think and be nice, I have a fragile ego. LOL! I don't really but I like constructive criticism instead of brutal non-tactful comments. http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/2931/blueshopinfo.jpg Thanks!!
I looked at the original one first, I thought it was lovely! Such pretty colors! And my eye did go right to the word "guide" under the butterfly. This second one I personally don't like as much. The flashing (animation) is kind of blinding and makes it hard to read. I often will leave a shop without buying what I came for if they have a lot of moving or flashing things just because it is so annoying, but perhaps that's just me. I don't mind animation if it's not in the way, but if it's in the middle of what I'm trying to read, I just skip it and move on to the next shop. I really like the idea and your designs, though. I think you do really awesome graphics! Great work! :) ~ Love books? Please visit my bookshop. :) http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=lolooma
Thank you for your constructive criticism!! Thanks too for the compliment! I was thinking of using this on the Notice Board, would that be too much flashing there? I thought as I was making all that blinking that it may be too much, LOL! What would you keep if you could keep one or two blinking things? _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

I too preferred the first one over the second one. I like lighter colors more appealing to the eyes I think. The flashing/changing on the second one is nice but I just feel it is to dark. However both are much better than I could create.

EDITED Okay well I will use the first one in my shop and mark that up as a purely learning experience unless anyone thinks it can be salvaged for use on the NB ADs....any suggestions? Amyrilli's vacation: http://www.neopets.com/~Amyrilli I have some photos I took of her all over the world that are too small so they aren't up yet though. It is a pet page for ages 8 and under. ~ May ~ I like your mall banner design, it's wide as oposed to "normal" banners that are tall, it's not something that jumps on my eyes, specially since I think using images makes you able to work less with your other objects, but it is pretty, well set and matching... The halloween one is a bit odd.. You know, since beach and halloween doesn't really go along XD But it was your choice to keep your style so it is understandable... Not much more for me to say, I'm a newbie on graphics so I figure I should let the pros talk ;)

The banner is definitely different from the norm, which is a plus. The image quality isn't as crystal clear as some banners. You might want to try saving it as .png instead of .jpg. It seems to be a clearer format. I like the halloween banner better than the other... the other banner doesn't seem to have enough going on in it. You might want to try making the animals and such a little larger maybe? Also the designer and artist names are awfully large. Its great that they get credit for their work, but after all, the image is an advertisement for the MALL, and not for the image designers... That part should be visible for interested parties, but it should not be one of the first things you notice when you look at the banner. :/ But overall, its a nice, interesting banner, so its definitely worthwhile to use, with a few little improvements. :P ------------------------------------------------------------------- ~~ Come visit my map shop ~~

Ah! The quality is horrid! If your using paint or paint pro-gimp save images as .PNG, I've always saved my work and the quality is clear! Need food items? Is YOUR pet HUNGRY & DYING?? Click here to teleport to my store! [br]

PNG though the quality is good, is very large, and Internet explorer hates it. And since most mall customers use internet explorer, it's better to sacrifice a little quality for easy and lag-free shopping

This is my daughters mall so I'm going by what she likes and what I think looks good (trying really hard to let her be the boss). I agree that the beach and halloween looks odd, that was an attempt to keep the mall banner sort of the same but here is a different version that they will be keeping: http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/9562/pppmallbannersept12009.jpg I am a newbie to children's graphics/neopets. I have a background in medical graphic design where everything is word-heavy and diagrams instead of purely artistic. I did presentations, forms and newsletters which is a TOTALLY different skill set than what I'm doing here! Thank you for your comments!! _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

I haven't used .png very much and like D said, they are huge! I agree about the artists signatures but this is my daughter's design and she wanted to be sure to have linkable signatures there. She wants credit (of course) and thought the normal way I do my signature was hard to read and I needed to get some credit for my hard work, LOL! She's a sweet and considerate 10-year-old, huh? _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc
