Shopfront Advice

My hut hits leave a little bit to be desired, so I am wondering what I can do differently (aside from move to a different hut - I have a specific one in mind but I'm involved in a "war" right now and have had to spend nearly every np to my name on weapons upgrades...so the hut move will have to wait) The hut I am in isn't -horrible- in my opinion. It is directly to the left of the Shop Wizard, so I do like that it's centralized. I've unfortunately dropped down to 3rd from the top in my hut over the last few days (which is a drag) although the top of that hut is inconsequential (they have a lupe and some text, that's it) and the 2nd shop in that hut, frankly, doesn't have as "cool" a category as I have.....SO I am convinced that it's my shop front that's the problem. And would it be totally weird to mail the person above me in that hut to see what his/her hut hits have been like in order to see if it's me or the hut that's the problem?

blech I -really- don't want to save it as a jpg since jpg doesn't allow for transparency. internet explorer is satanic. are there really people who still use that?

yeah but using transparency of png in ie makes it show up black or gray in those areas. as for users, 95% of all connections made to mall.neomallers.com (which is the stats domain for xmart) is IE users

no, i use IE at work and the transparent areas on the banner are still transparent when I view them. 95% of people are crazy. Firefox is god.

woo! go cars go! have you noticed that in some of the bigger huts there are a TONNE of really awful pixelated ms paint banners? so retro!

and it also means that just because they have big shops doesnt mean they are hard workers or good mallers. many upgraded when it was super cheap which is why there are so many nub looking accounts with 1200+ shop sizes

Hut Other Mall Petpages S-Wiz NB Misc Page Avg: 18 54 137 2 50 36 6 You: 15 186 370 7 83 108 98 still not happy with my hut hits. when I get home from work tonight (i'm at work, so i don't have loads of time to be playing hut strategy or anything) i think i'll have to upgrade and move. clearly the hut I am in now is satanic. *hiss* question: is it better to be at the top of a crappy hut or toward the middle of a good hut?

I've been 2nd on hut 380 all day :D (below a one line shop description with no banner or links). 34 hits so far today from my hut, not bad, but not as good as I'd like it to be. And demirep, typically, its better to be at the top of a slightly worse off hut, because not many people will bother scrolling down more then 3 shop descriptions, lets say 25% of the people that come to your hut do, then you have to divide that by the other 7 people below the top three, you're only getting around 3.5% of your huts traffic :P Of course, if your bank allows it, its best to be at the top of a good hut ;)
