If people could join it freely, then it would show up on your profile. Only way to hide it from your profile is to make it private/invite based

I've always been careful to not let it show on my facebook that I play neo :P so I only have a few select neo people on there as friends. I've found over the last 6 months or so though that i'm not AS bothered now. In the past i've always lied to anyone and everyone about how I met Chris, not even my best friend in England knows, or my mum for that matter 0:-) However when I moved to Sweden and made friends here, I told them the truth, what business is it of other peoples anyway, it's just a hobby, everyone has them. The long and the short of it being... if I ever used twitter I guess i'd "follow" neomallers, but i'm a facebook girl. Yeah, i only have a few select friends on FB. I used to casually add people and then someone blurted it out on my wall so I only add very good friends. And speaking of friends, I dont understand why people want to be friends with other people so much. They should go to lavalife if they're so desperate to meet new people. I even get neofriend requests on this site (neomallers) too. It's not like you cant "talk" if you're not "friends" according to some list. P.S. Notice how this site, unlike others, have no friends-list feature *lol*

As for FB, I play neopets because it is virtual -- I love it because it's virtual. I don't want to mix real life with virtual in any other forum than here, ATM. I had one bad experience from a web site friend on My Space (no longer have an account there). He tracked-down my address and showed up at my house. He drove all the way from Phoenix, Arizona to Charlotte, NC! He was on his way some where else but still went several hundred miles out of the way to knock on my door! CREEPY! I must say it was an excellent teaching moment for my children on the dangers of using real information on the internet! As for the desperation for on-line friends, I don't understand the 237,564 friends thing either. For some people I think it's a contest to see how fake popular they are, lol. On Neo I've blocked my friend requests but have my mail open to anyone and only accept friend requests from mature players who I am fairly certain won't beg for items or mail me every day. No, I hadn't noticed there are no friends features on here but I like it!
