Are there currently any plans for making a full neo Items Database featuring all the basic info and current, accurate, market prices on item? If not, I think it would be a good addition to the site. Similar to JN's database.

I am all for NOT re-inventing the wheel! JN already has such a database so why re-do what they are doing? Yes it would be thrilling to see just how many items are in Neopia and their general cost (which fluctuates daily so that is just impossible) but I cannot image the amount of space necessary to make or maintain such a thing. It stresses me out just thinking about it! *fans self* *lol*

If it was made openly changeable by any member for the first two weeks or so, you could probably get price on most items. Then after that period, the permission to change prices is given only to those chosen. Adding a forum section for adjusting prices would also help.
One of the biggest concerns about JN's database is that the prices are very inaccurate at times so having one at neomallers would appeal to many people.

There are 1000s of items in neopia.. and it just isn't possible to keep an accurate price log for all of them..
From what I have heard, people were frozen for having browser addons that automatically tracked the values of items.
Would be a nice feature to have, and since malls buy/sell a wide variety of items much of the database could be built from daily restocking of shops. Probably isn't worth the effort though.

But see, that's just it. PRICES CHANGE DAILY.
Unless you want to maintain a Database for roughly 35,000 items BY YOURSELF, DAILY; then no, it's never going to happen here. There's already one on JN, why would it appeal to people to have one here too?
Even still, with Wiz bans and the like, I very highly doubt that you will ever be able to do it by yourself, on a daily basis, maintaining the prices.
JN has even said themselves that the prices are sometimes out of date because of the sheer amount of items.
Really, I think the database is simply for looking up the items. If you want to get an idea of the price, then check SW, Auctions and the TP yourself. If you have the only item in all of Neopia, I think it would only be fair that YOU get to set the price.

If JN is unsuccessful with it, Neomallers would be too. Why don't you just wiz search the items you want to know the price for, is it that hard? I think that this feature would be way to much work to save a few seconds to look up prices yourself.

Yeah but out of the 4921 users, only a small fraction actually come here daily.

Erm, yeah. Jellyneo does as good of a job as can be expected, and the neomallers site... well, its for mallers. And we overprice, instead of pricing at the going value anyway. *nods* So wouldn't having a price database here seem counterintuitive?

Oh, and by the by... on jellyneo, registered users CAN edit prices. In fact, I just looked up and edited the price on a book.
Edit: And you can look back and see who has edited, when, and what all the past edits were... Like look at this history, for the bri codestone:
