Hits Vs. Sales

So, I have a friend that is debating me because I said that we have about 10 shops getting less than 20 hits a day (in the Nursery Malls)...and those are just the ones registered with Neomallers..No idea about the others. She is saying 'hits have nothing to do with profits'. Well, I can semi understand that, but then...When everyone else is getting around a 100 and there are some with 7, is there not a problem? Maybe prices too high? Crappy items stocked? We already have things against us, being we are a mini mall...but if these people are paying 20-50k every 2 weeks for a NB ad that gets you like 10 hits, tops, won't they have a bigger chance of leaving, since even if they get 10 hits a day, they are not making lots? Ugh, anyone understand? Kind of irritated, but you know how that goes :* Updating news pages and trying to recruit is good, but don't we need to help current members succeed first and foremost? I think if anything they will leave if they think they are losing..which I have had LOTS of Mallers say to me before when running a branch..that they were too broke to be in a Mall. I know Malling costs a lot, but there should be profits too. Ok, point given. Any thoughts? =)

I know the ads are not mandatory, but when you get reminders and stuff to pay, kind of feels like if you do not pay, you are a slacker maller... Then you see those donating 200k instead of the 40k, and makes you feel like you should donate more, too. Personal opinion though. 4 mil ads do not do much for me this time of year, so why waste 40k on something that does literally nothing?? I like shop exposure, even if they do not buy. So I like hits..because maybe the more they see my shop from even 1 little purchase, they may bookmark me and check back...I get mails every so often saying how they love my shop and check it out a lot for new items, but not necessarily buy every time...It is nice =)

reguardless of the original purpose of this thread, there are a lot of good thoughts and ideas here that i think should be discussed with all of our mall members and the mall owner. our mall chat board is accessable to more of our members if anyone would like to post their thoughts on the nbad's and any helpful ideas for people's shop hits there i think it would be more effective. ______________ A Parent, A Shaklee Rep, a Blogger, and a Neo-Addict...

I make good profit from what I sell. I watch for profitable purchases and I get between 25-35% profit every day. I am not a very big shop but I'm dedicated to what I do. The number of hits makes a huge difference on your sales. Most of my traffic comes from Wiz and bookmarked repeat customers. I spend almost 100K per month and get little traffic from those ads. Because I am new to this mall, I pay for each ad. I see no point to these ads at this time. I think this is one of the reasons we loose members so often.
