Poll - candle scents

I'm going to start making candles to sell, but I need to know what scents people like. If you could go through and pick out your favs from each category, that would be appreciated! Please leave the headings of each category, as I will be buying them from a certain store (Hobby Lobby) and I need to know which ones they are (there's four different brands/types). *** CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID -Patchouli -Sandalwood -Cappuccino -Midnight -Ocean Breeze -Fresh Rain -Banana Nut -Peppermint -Lavender -Gardenia -Jasmine -Rose -Sugar Plum -Peach Mango -Cinnamon -Melonberry -Strawberry -Sugar Cookie -Vanilla -Lilac -Spiced Apple -Mulberry -Cranapple Spice -Pinapple Cilantro CONCENTRATED CANDLE SCENT BLOCKS (come in sets of four) -Vanilla, Strawberry, Buttercream & Cinnamon -Pumpkin Spice, Apple Pie, Mulberry, & Sugar Cookie -Paradise Breeze, Coconut, Pina Colada & Ginger Mango -Cinnamon Swirl, Spiced Apple, Cranberry Vanilla, & Holiday at Home CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID (8 oz.) -Cinnamon -Spiced Apple -Vanilla -Ocean Breeze CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID (1/2 oz.) -Gingerbread & Maple Syrup *** Thanks so much for your input! Makes the whole house smell of Gardenias, mmmmm. -Jasmine -Rose -Vanilla - Classic, everyone loves the smell of food. -Lilac -Mulberry - I have one of these, and they smell WONDERFUL! CONCENTRATED CANDLE SCENT BLOCKS (come in sets of four) -Vanilla, Strawberry, Buttercream & Cinnamon - Again, the smells of food -Pumpkin Spice, Apple Pie, Mulberry, & Sugar Cookie - I like this one for the Mulberry CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID (8 oz.) -Vanilla -Ocean Breeze I also love those jelly candles. I don't know what they're really called, but the wax is squishy. I have one and I just play with it instead of actually lighting it. They're so cool :D Also, have you tried incense burners? I have one, it's an eight headed dragon and when you light the stuff and put it in the bottom, the smoke comes out their mouths. I like to play with it too :P Some of the smells for it are overwhelming. I'd try some scents that aren't too strong because when they burn, they're stronger.

As for smells I like these from the CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID Ocean Breeze, Midnight, Lavender, Melonberry and Rain Love Light and Laughter ~*Rita- AKA twistedshadowsrabbit*~

CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID -Sandalwood -Midnight -Ocean Breeze -Fresh Rain -Peppermint -Lavender -Gardenia -Jasmine -Sugar Plum -Peach Mango -Cinnamon -Vanilla -Lilac -Mulberry CONCENTRATED CANDLE SCENT BLOCKS (come in sets of four) -Vanilla, Strawberry, Buttercream & Cinnamon -Paradise Breeze, Coconut, Pina Colada & Ginger Mango -Cinnamon Swirl, Spiced Apple, Cranberry Vanilla, & Holiday at Home CRAFTY CANDLES FRAGRANCE LIQUID (8 oz.) -Cinnamon -Vanilla -Ocean Breeze I don't like too many food smells, mostly flowers and spices. I don't hate the smell of foody candles but only like them at Thanksgiving and Christmas. I have a few suggestions here: make sure you use candle wicks that don't have any metal inside them. Those wicks are easier to work with but the smoke has some toxic fumes so I NEVER buy candles that have metal in them. Also, I prefer candles that are inside jars or glass containers so I don't have to worry about the wax running or a fire. Also, when you blow them out the wax stays put. My kids love blowing candles out and I learned early that if you blow too hard the wax splatters everywhere. If you do put them into containers make sure the mouth is wide enough to get your hand into (when possible) because I have special lighters that I have to use to light my candles when they get really low. Another thing is to use essential oils when possible since some are allergic to fragrances that are manufactured. Essential oils seem expensive but a little goes a very long way. Good luck with this, it's a great idea! ~ Mimi temps_bons graphics ~ http://www.neopets.com/~Mimi_Miaulement

Also, I'll be using soy wax because burning paraffin wax (which is the type 90% of Americans use in their homes) is akin to burning a small pot of raw oil, and you breathe in the soot and fumes from that? oO;; A good way to test that - ever see a sooty black ring around your candle, or if you burn it on a table underneath a picture, then remove the picture and see a black outline? That's the soot. Plus, soy wax, unlike paraffin wax, comes out with soap and water. I'm sure all of you have at one point or another spilled some candle wax, and it was a brat to get out. Soy wax cleans up with soap and water =) And yes, all of those listed above are from essential oils. =) *** Current shop size: 129/700 www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=nioe_yemar&misc Owner of The Rainbow Fields Mall! www.neopets.com/~Mynynae - Places to Go, Things to See!

I buy most of the things I use in my home from a company that sells green products and they have soy candles :) Yes, I have candle wax on a pillow case from a blow-out the flame incident and have no clue how to get it out. I am sure I can google it but just haven't taken the time. ~ Mimi temps_bons graphics ~ http://www.neopets.com/~Mimi_Miaulement
