The fact that it was an earthquake didn't even OCCUR to me... my chair was shaking for about 30 seconds, and I just couldn't figure out why! Then people texted me and my mother yelled that the whole house was shaking and.. earthquake, apparently!

was home here in Ottawa when it hit. lost our power for a bit. thought the Toronto subway had carried on right to Ottawa and under my house. Have now lived through 2 tornadoes in Stratford, a flood of the Nith River west of Kitchener a forest fire in Red Lake and now a earthquake in Ottawa... who says we don't get natural disasters.
