To upgrade or not to upgrade...

Quick question - I recently have gotten back into malling and saw today that I'm at the top of my hut. My shop size is currently 487. The shop in the top of the next hut is 492. If I were to upgrade to 492, would I be at the top of that hut? How does neopets choose who is listed first? And if I was to upgrade to 493, would that bump me to the bottom of the next hut up after that? That shop lowest in that hut appears to be 495 currently. Sorry if these seem like n00b questions! Just want to learn more about hut positioning.

The huts are done as follows: 1) Shop size 2) In the event that more than one has the same shop size, they are listed z-a, reverse alpha 3) There are 10 shops to a hut. If you see there are less than 10, in that even someone's account has been frozen but they still have a ghost place in the hut.

Thanks for your reply! Just for clarification - There are 9 people listed in the next hut up from me (guessing one is frozen and hidden)- if I upgraded to the same size as the current top shop in that hut, would I take the top spot? I think I would be put first because their username starts with s and mine starts with x. Theoretically, would that bump someone in that hut down into the hut I'm currently in?

Somehow I got bumped to the bottom of the next hut up, but I'm still the same shop size as I was? The person in the top of my old hut is the same shop size as well. Poot. Wasn't aware that happened.
