Counter question

I'm sorry if this has already been answered - went back through the last six months of questions and didn't see it addressed. Also dually sorry if it's a n00b question! My shop counter, when you look at my shop front, doesn't appear to be tracking any hits. When I look at the back end info here on my counter page, it's definitely tracking visits. Does this mean my code is wrong? I also noticed if I try to change the color of my counter, it doesn't change, but I'm guessing that's due to the new updated version? Many thanks in advance if you can figure out what I've done wrong. :D

Sorry for the double post - I went through other shops in my mall and see it's the same for all users who have the counter displayed. Is this something we've all done wrong or is there an issue with the way they're displaying now?

Do you mean the hits for the day aren't recording? Or they aren't adding to the total hits? The hits for each day do not add to the total until the day is up, then they are all added to the total and start counting for the next day. Or if you have it on ghost mode (cloak), other people can't see your hits.

I mean the counter that's actually displaying in my shop: http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=x15stitches It shows nothing everytime I look at it, but when I look at my counter stats here, on neomallers, I can see I've had hits. It's the same for every person in my mall displaying a counter - no numbers, just dashes. My preference is set to uncloaked.

They are showing up fine for me. Your counter is green and it says you have had 8 visits today. Everyone else's in the mall is looking normal on my computer too.

Hmm that's very odd. I've ctrl +f5'd it a bunch of times, will try clearing cache! Good to know it's showing for everyone else :D Thanks a bunch ^_^ Edit: Have cleared cache & cookies, relogged in (using firefox btw) and still I see a black counter with -- where the numbers should be. Have checked in IE and I'm seeing the same. I am truly baffled! I allowed scripts globally in my shop as well, to see if it was NoScript, but that didn't change anything.

That is indeed very weird. The counter is just a gif image. No scripts or anything. All of that is done on the server end and your browser just gets a simple gif image.. ----------------------------- [color=purple]Contrary to popular belief, the Irish and I are not married[/color]

Yeah, I had some guildies check it for me in chrome as well and they can see it fine! I've had the same counter for over a year, not sure if that would have anything to do with it or not. My code is the code that is given to me when I follow the instructions to get my code though. I'll go look at it on my bf's pc and see what it looks like on his as well. I guess it doesn't matter that much as long as the back end stats are there! XD Edit: Checked using his pc and it still shows the old counter version...wth is going on?! Lol

Oh, that has happened to me before but I never thought to mention it to someone! Well, I used to go back and forth between my own laptop and my dad's desktop. On the laptop, my counter numbers showed, on the desktop, they didn't. This leads me to believe it has to do with individual computer settings, since other than that, the browser/addons/whatever were all the same. I don't know if that means anything or helps at all, but there you have it.

I tried restarting the modem & router in my house but results are still the same xD My bf's pc is running Windows 7 with IE as the browser, so definitely not the same as my desktop (Windows XP with FF as browser, although I tried it in IE on mine as well). I really have no clue. It's irritating more than anything. Thanks for trying to help ^_^
