NeoMallers Portal 10 on Mac OS X

Is now working. I'll probably repackage this for os X eventually http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/ ^working windows emulator.

So do you still need a program to run windows? If not, what does that windows emulator do? And can we transfer our history and items from VMware to the mac portal?

No you dont need windows. It runs directly inside of os x. If I repackage it, you wont need anything at all since it will be "native" to os x. Though that file is gonna be relatively big since it will have the emulator "wrapped" around it. And yep that should work. Just copy the vmware/portal files (via shared files) to your mac partition and launch directly from os x Still testing to make sure it works ok before making it "official" ----------------------------- Are you protected? http://www.neopets.com/~punchback_bob CG information & more

A native app to MAC OS X would be amazing :).

I have to agree - would be fantastic!!

Hi Mean Tree :) I did install the package you linked to as well as portal - both seemed to go in successfully! However, I just opened Portal for the first time and clicked the Start Portal button and I get: Run time error '429' ActiveX component can't create object And it just quits Portal from Wine/WineBottler/whatever. What am I supposed to do? XD

Odd.. Try installing the vb run times (the 6.0) one from winetricks. As well as the common dialog stuff (forgot the name but it started with something like commct32.dll/) I'll write up a full guide eventually when some of the workload lets down... ----------------------------- Are you protected? http://www.neopets.com/~punchback_bob CG information & more

Definitely make the guide, or get Portal to work Native to OS X :)
