[Suggestion] Unread messages from Most Recent Posts

Would it be possible to have away of knowing whether the threads in the Top Posts or Most Recent Posts (or what you call it - the messages at the left-hand side of the site) have recent updates/posts. For example, have the title of the thread bolded if there is a recent update to it? Or something like a red 'updated' color like the one in the forums.

Good idea, since I always click on the top one to see if there's new posts, and if so, I continue down the list until I hit the first one that doesn't. But that means when there ARENT any updates for a long time, I end up clicking the top post a whole bunch of times!

Zixi. You are so active i cant believe you need to check new posts :D You probably remember all the topics and how many posts are in each :D

I've thought of that a few times.. However, that active forums thing is provided by Drupal (the software that the neomallers code sits on) It's pretty complex since it's permissions based (staff thread,private mall forums, etc) so it takes more than a simple "SELECT *" sql command Plus it uses "JOIN" and im not too familiar with that sql command haha.. I suppose i could rewrite it but im not too sure in terms of performance hit. My sql coding is pretty shitty i'd say (A) The who's online thing was also an issue too. but that i just rewrote the whole thing (well i had to, since Drupal has no built in support for stealth, and whatnot) ----------------------------- [color=purple]Are you protected?[/color] http://www.neopets.com/~punchback_bob CG information & more

SOURCE CODE! *lol* I haven't said that in a while :K I can see it being a slight pain, because the 'active threads' probably only cares about which user is logged in to see which threads they can see listed there, and that is based off the user permissions, not the username itself. I doubt there would be too much performance issue though, it would just have to use the same basic code from the forums where threads with new posts are given a different icon than ones that are read, and there are is a much smaller number of threads to check here. The only real issue here is that it would have to run that check every time the page is loaded.

It was a great idea, anyways. I guess we'll just have to be less lazy and click 1000 times a day. *lol* Source code... the movie?? :P (That's my extent of source code) :P oh and looking at a page's source.
