Yes some versions are copies of each other. Leaf green and fire red are copies of each other but some pokemon appearances are different. Emerald green, sapphire blue, and ruby red are also copies but pokemon appear rarer in certain ones and some show up easier in others. Also, in those as well as heart gold and soul silver you can only get certain legendary pokemon from certain games. I've played a handful of the games. Pokemon Yellow was the only one I actually completed my Pokedex. I also managed to get a team of six level 100s. I liked Gold and Silver as well! I never got to try Crystal but I liked how it had little animations for the Pokemon and the girl protagonist. Then I played Ruby (naturally); my favorite part of that was probably making a secret base. Some of my favorite Pokemon were introduced in these earlier games. Eventually I tried either Diamond or Pearl-- I don't even remember which one-- and I really liked the vs seeker and how it made it so easy to re-battle opponents. My last game to try so far was White. I liked how that gen introduced triple battles. Has anyone seen Pokemon Origins or Pokemon Generations?
