Shop Counters

I'm wondering exactly what the shop counters count. Is it the number of items sold or the number of visits-with or without a sale? If they count visits, rather than sales, will mine count any time I view my shop front? Thanks for any clarification. :)

They count per person that enters your shop. Once a certain person enters your shop the counter number won't go up again from their next visit. At least I think I'm right. o:

just number of visits. We originally had plans to track actual sales via the counter but since it relies heavily on a browser referrer function, it's not completely reliable.
