NeoMallers Portal X2 Open beta!! 12.0.0

Hello all! It's finally here! The web based version of the NeoMallers Portal brings many new features such as wiz price crowd sourcing, better error trapping, a redesigned interface, and daily backups. It is called the X2 for the time being as it seems to fit quite nicely (its version number 12.0.0 picks off from where the classic portal left off) NeoMallers Portal 10.x has been renamed to simply NeoMallers Portal X. But where's 11 you ask?? That's a potential future project! It basically brings X2 and the original together through a two way sync which allows you use either the web version or the Windows app. The beta can be accessed from http://neomallers.com/cloud NeoMallers Portal X (Version 10.2) is required for the DB import feature and can be downloaded directly from http://neomallers.com/files/portal.exe To export: Download Portal 10.2 directly into your NeoMallers folder. Open Portal and run the database export tool. Choose Prepare export file. Copy and paste the text file's contents to neomallers. While many bugs have been ironed out, we still strongly recommend that you take caution and make sure you are submitting data in correctly. We do run daily backups of the main and X2 databases every day at 9am however don't rely on them too much. Also, some of the core features (mainly analysis tools) are currently not available but will come shortly. To come soon: - Bringing crowd source online - integration with NeoMallers Shop Counter Service and the unreleased Market Analysis (remember that weird link under tools??) - Statistics (with actual graphs, not dumb bar graphs made crudely with jscript) for both sales history and item database. - DB snapshots. (This will make the restore process so much easier and automated too!) Requirements: X2 should run fine on most modern browsers. If you use NoScript, you should whitelist/enable jscript for neomallers.com since it greatly improves the experience. Post your experiences here!

Hi there! I'm also new to the portal and am super excited to have it on the web. So far, I absolutely love it. One quick thing, though: all of my items say that I've sold 0 items, even though I've been selling pretty steadily. Is this just because I can't copy and paste my sales history? Does syncing the shop front just update the quantities without updating the amount sold? Thanks!

You're welcome! Right now, the only way to update it is via sales history. There's been a few requests to implement a method that bypasses sales history so it's in the works. A possible way i see it is to allow the user to restock as normal. Sync at that point. And when it comes to calculating sales, the user is required to first run another sync of the shop front with a checkbox that directs Portal to process sales history as instead of the normal process of updating instock values. This process will work unless the user has restocked some items back or changed prices without the initial "sales history" sync. That way, I can use the differences in the shop stock and what's listed in portal to generate sales history

I would love that! Thanks! I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong, so thanks for clarifying :)

I haven't yet gotten the chance to import my portal, but I'm looking forward to it. The way you mentioned the sales history, though, it sounds like there isn't emulate sales anymore. Is emulate sales still an option in the new portal? (I suppose that I'll find out when I import and get started, but I'd like to know.)

By the way, thanks for all the time and money you put into this. It's really a fantastically helpful program, even for someone like me who runs a shop on a much smaller scale than many of the mallers here.

It is currently not an option yet. But it will eventually be implemented as described above unless someone has a better idea. The emulate sales button that is used in the portal didn't really take off as far as i know so i probably wont port that directly into X2. My first priority was to get the core to an usable state and then add on new features. It took longer than expected since I had to look into potential security exploits and performance issues since when it's all done, the item database table will easily grow to over a million rows. (the counter service is currently sitting at just over 500k rows) and that's just the counter. Luckily i figured it by setting up our own custom cache and that has made the load so much lighter. This MySQL server has been running for 7 days, 4 hours, 49 minutes and 30 seconds. It started up on Aug 20, 2012 at 12:13 PM. Query statistics: Since its startup, 25,338,168 queries have been sent to the server. heh.

Minor adjustments: When on a X2 page, the left sidebar is invisible so you can position the neo window and X2 a bit more easily.

I'm getting an error message of : ErrorYou must have a valid active profile before you can access this page. Please visit management. This is on my item DB page, Sales history page, and sync front page. I have not started to put my items in. I just deleted my edibles profile and those were the only items in my database. Do you have a solution?
