Opinions on noticeboard ads!

Ok, so last year when I ran ads I used to make an insane profit off them 0:-) like easily 700k plus on the peak day. Anyway, I had top ad yesterday, and while my hits were beyond ridiculous quite frankly, my profit was only a little over 230k. Now I know it will pick up as summer comes closer, I also know not everything about ads is the profit, but yeah, I thought that was particularly poor. Sure there are off weeks, but as the poster of the ad, it doesn't feel like I should have sacrificed sleep to post that *lol* Just wondering, if you were me, would you keep running the ad? I also have a sunday ad, I didn't get top with it so I know that ones going to be a complete fail. A good friend of mine said maybe I should just run the Thursday ad and not the sunday one. Opinions? :*

my sales were lower than usual on nb ad peak days this week too, which is weird because they were up two weeks ago and about normal last week. kind of frustrating.

My sales are down about 300k from their average all week long... so it's not just you :/

Two items wow that is bad *lol* Yeah, well it was the easter holidays a few weeks ago so that does explain that peak. I'll run this sundays ad and see how high I can get it and take it from there. Surely the weekend ones should be profitable at the very least if I can get top or second!

Yea, I had 3 finals this week, and its been crazy, so its probably the same for alot of people in college/uni. Im restocking my shop now though, and I noticed that I havent sold nearly as many codestones as usual, but WAY more scratchcards. And I was on your ad for the scratchcards button. So it seemed to have an affect for sure, but they are just so much cheaper than codies that it didnt really cover the costs of the ad fee. Ah well, cant wait for summer sales :D:D

Yeah thats the problem with the Thursday banner, it's more expensive. The person who has scratchcards for my Sunday ad is only paying 200k for the spot, which is quite a drop in price to what you paid.

I do agree that notice board ads aren't quite as effective since the toolbar was removed... I do still believe they are worth participating in though, not only in terms of the profits you *sometimes* make but also in terms of exposure. My sales have been particularly slow this week compared to the usual, so I am not surprised that I also had mediocre (at best) results from the ad.

I had 2 this week. 2 next week and then I'm done. And I think that group of players is a larger chunk of Neopets than people give us credit for :P

I hate to argue, but the more hits, the more bandwidth, so if your shop is fairly popular like I'm sure Dmitri's is, yes, it will crap out after an hour. In fact, I've seen it go in less then that which is another reason we don't use them for Roo graphics unless the hits are going to not shoot the bandwidth through the moon.
