Saw movie, not impressed. Who eats only at Mc? If you did, they have salads and other healthier foods on their menu that you could choose from. Just not realistic unless you really want to kill yourself.
You're right. There was a sequel called "portion size me" where the same was attempted, except 2 people ate and each figured out what calories they needed and only ate fast food, but were allowed to order the salads and such, and they lost weight. --- Step outside, take a breath of fresh air, then look down to see if you have a new text message.

I think many miss the point of this movie...it is about the PERMANENT DAMAGE he did to his body in less than 30 days BY EATING FOOD that is sold in mass quantities to all people throughout the world. Isn't that a little frightening? He was a vegan whose live-in girlfriend was an organic vegan chef and he was more than fit (super healthy) when he started filming. How many of you that eat at McDonald's can claim that? In less than 30 days he did DAMAGE to many of his vital organs that takes other people (very heavy drinkers, smokers, etc.) years to do. So much damage that his doctors were amazed, surprised, and demanded he stop the documentary/experiment. Whenever you watch a documentary -- put your brain and your emotions in neutral so you can hear and absorb what is in the documentary. After you have all the accurate info. then watch it again to see how you feel about it. I can't believe anyone over the age of 18 could watch this movie, understand it and not have it change the way they eat. The other point of the movie was that there is a targeted attempt to HOOK children on their drug-like food at an early age. Many, many, many other points were made but it's been about 6 months since I've seen it (with my kids -- the first time was a year or two ago) so I can't tell you the finer points. ~ Mimi ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~ temps_bons graphics ~ http://www.neopets.com/~Mimi_Miaulement

^I meant same concept of "I'm only eating at fast food", but then I know how Supersize me nearly put that guy in his grave, the point of the sequel was to be like "Hey, it's all the junk he did that ruined him, not just the fast food. overeating, going crazy, etc. harmed him, you can choose healthy." or something along that. --- Step outside, take a breath of fresh air, then look down to see if you have a new text message.

In my mind its not frightening, just because we as humans will do something to harm our bodies. Nobody is perfect. I'm sure even vegans eat stuff every once in a while that isn't good for them. And he was not a vegan. He ate meat, he said so in the movie. I choose not to change my eating habits because I like Mcdonalds. Sure, the food can be bad for you but nothing out here is good anyway. Mcdonalds does try to get kids in the doors because they happen to make lots of money off of them. Its sad, but that's business. You can't say you have never seen this before because video game consoles do the same thing. They get kids with the games and they could sit at home all day and play. Then comes the bad side effects. Lazy. Gaining weight. So all I'm saying is nothing is wrong with McDonalds, they are only doing what so many other businesses do, they just happen to be popular and they take the heat. If you do not want your kids to eat it, do not buy it. If you do not want to eat it, do not buy it. But you can not expect someone, just because they are over eighteen to stop eating something that is so good to them (YUMMY). Why fix it if it isn't broken? Just moderate it, exercise and live. *oui* _____________________________________________________ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=olean1&misc Food , Drinks , Bakery & Sweets
