Neopets Recession or worse, Depression--you decide

Low shop sales seem to be a common thread right now. So would you say that we are in a recession or depression. Sales seemed to have tanked and no category has been spared. Share your thoughts and what do you think it will take to break the dry spell.

Double post on purpose. My theory is, we have had one giveaway after another--so who needs to buy anything 51 planet whatever, advent calendar, games challenge, the neopies, neopets birthday, ednas spooky surprise and who knows what I overlooked. Ok I have been wondering this for awhile - kinda related to the topic, more to Dmitri's post - do you guys ever think they will shut down Neopets? I mean, with the NC Mall I feel like it's given them more incentive to keep it open. But I worry b/c (yes as silly as it sounds), this is my #1 hobby. I would be SO upset if it closed. I just feel like Neopets is just not as popular as it used to be...and those stats Dmitri just posted, as well as our sales, shows it...

Litrell, can you you imagine how pissed people who pay for Premium and those who have dumped a couple grand into the NC mall would be if neo closed. o-o Scary thought though We weren't born to follow ♥
