Neopets Recession or worse, Depression--you decide

Low shop sales seem to be a common thread right now. So would you say that we are in a recession or depression. Sales seemed to have tanked and no category has been spared. Share your thoughts and what do you think it will take to break the dry spell.

Just wait till the summer. I love summer sales. But it is true about all the giveaways. They gave out one hundred dubloon coins today....

Besides just the number of people online decreasing every year think about what time period we are in. It's the time where kids are going back to school and I would say a majority of the users on Neopets are in some sort of schooling so of course that has something to do with it. Well, take the sales from any mall. I would guess over 50% are from 3 week old accounts or less. I'm thinking the newbs are there, they are just overwhelmed by how much there is to learn about neopia and they give up. Also, if I hadn't upgraded my internet, I wouldn't be able to play at all on dial-up. I REALLY think the main reasons are overwhelmed newbs who quit before even getting started good, and dial-up users having to quit because nothing will load.
