As for portable version, like davymuncher I'd prefer something fast and quick. I don't really care that much amazing graphics.
The flash banner loads wonderfully for me (super cool graphics by the way), no lag.
Whatever you think is best and works the best with your site, you've done a great job with this site and the portal : )

Flash seems fine and I prefer flash.
Just don't make it too cluttered and laggy like Faerieland.

Like everyone else I am a fan of Flash.
But when it comes to the security issue - will it be like last time to where they might only be able to get our information from accounts on this site or could it possibly be like a CG and get everything? I know nothing about security and what not so if there is a possiblity they can gain a lot more access to things like our neopets accounts, bank info, etc. then I'll be leery upon going with flash.
But server wise its best to do what's best for the server.

That only happened because a mod account on neomallers was broken into and through that account, the person was able to stick in additional code into the pages (which pretty much disabled all the "escape" code i stick in at the top of every page of this site, or more specifically, one of Xmart's Mall Management pages.
Anyways it seems to be possible to make use of URL headers and that kind of stuff in the last case of scenario

Flash both loads and looks great for me! Great job on the school project btw, cool idea :). I think you should go with Flash if it's safe.
