... I had to keep moving my prices up or I could not keep up with all the restocking. I think I started out pricing things about 300 np above what I paid (SSW) but was selling way too many items. ...sweet spot yet, I'm still fiddling with my prices. ~ Love books? Please visit my bookshop. :) http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=lolooma
I do the same thing. I sell a lot of stock and many times all of one item will be gone when I check my shop (5 times a day) so I keep bumping up the price until I find the spot where it sells but not all of them every time I restock. I also price some items higher so that they won't sell for a while. I consider these items my core shop stock because people won't buy them because they found them on the lower end of SW but after they are browsing my shop). These items also help me stay sane or I'd be restocking literally all the time which isn't my idea of fun. However, I still try not to go way over what SW has because I don't want to make anyone question the rest of my prices in my shop. More than 2,000 over SW on items that cost less than 5K is a lot to me... but I'm sensitive about pricing and as my shop gets bigger I may get over that. I used to put items in my shop at 99,999 just to have it in there so my shop wouldn't look so bare when I have one of those people come in that buys everything (almost) but I have guild mates that buy those things to be sweet so I quit doing that because I just felt bad about it. I would feel terrible if a newbie bought it and I took all their nps! Anyway.... :) I think as long as you have reasons, real reasons (and you know what those reasons are) for pricing your items the way you do, you can/should feel good about it. If you are just pricing willy-nilly a hater can make you feel bad...for a minute and theeennnn you're over it! I either RS my items or buy from the SSW, and then I price so that I am either the last on the SSW before refreshing (to see the lastest highest price on the SSW) or a little above if all the items are around the same. Some items I overprice that I do not want selling yet. Also any items value under 1000np I price at 1000 or such, so that they show on my Sales History until I start using the Portal again. And I sell a good amount of items daily. I am happy with my sales and prices. I hate overpricing by alot, it feels wrong. The one thing our mall is known for is fair prices. I check my mallers prices; if they are not Shop Wizard then they must change it. I do price some items at the lowest on SSW to get more traffic and so that my shop becomes known since it is still on the smaller size. =}

I try to price low, but if i don't have many if an item or will be away for a while i price at the higher end of the ssw so i don't sell out. If i will be around I for sell for cheap and a fast turnover, just depends. I never overprice by much knowingly but sometimes the prices drop or get tarla'd
