Ah that sucks. Especially since they're using a name someone who would be looking for banners would trust. How conniving. :K Luckily I get the latest and best virus software free so anything that even attempts to run on my computer gets shut down for about 5 different angles :P
What do you have?
How much is the latest antispyware nowadays? Sadly, I don't have any protection but an AVG program... You're in for a surprise. Here are some generic directions for Windows XP. I used them to delete Trojans, spyware, and some pop-up thingy I had. I warn you the directions are lengthy and I think you probably need a program to identify the name of and where the infected files are first. If you start is safe mode you should be able to run virus software without the virus shutting it down. I hope these directions help. Just take a deep breath and intend on spending 2+ hours...I have a pretty fast machine and these steps still take forever because you have to run full virus scans before and after. I have also attached the viruses I had (their file names) they were in my quarantine area so I can't tell you where they were originally; I didn't record that part and I have forgotten. Let me know if you have questions, I'll be here off and on through the night per usual. ~ Mimi (Please read my Guest Book: Requesting Guide Help) _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons

Pip - you can still use the removal programs, you just have to change their names. What I did is download the removal program on a different computer, then dragged it into my flash drive (the .exe file), then make a copy of it and change the name of the program to something unrelated, like cutebunny.exe or something. Next, use your flash drive to move it to the infected computer. You can run the program under it's new name and your malicious blocker thingie won't recognize it. Sometimes you can only run it in safe mode first, though. These new trjoans and viruses are really tough to remove. The best programs I've found for the really tricky ones are to hit it with a combination of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and SuperAntiSpyware. The Malwarebytes will remove some of the weird ones that nothing else can find. They both have a free version and a paid version. Also, remember to not use the system restore or you can put the nasty stuff back in. Hope this helps! :) ~ Love books? Thanks I never thought of that. I just downloaded a mirror version of both of those programs, but it seems I have too many infected files for it remove at once. Approx. 39,000 o-o And I have to restart after each deletion xD Hopefully eventually I can get rid of this junk

That's a cute angle on the whole thing! WOW 39,000 is a ton! It's amazing you can still use your computer! Have you been watching your bank/credit card statements to be sure your identity hasn't been stolen? Many of them steal your private info... you should check that stuff to to be sure! ~ Mimi (Please read my Guest Book: Requesting Guide Help) _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons
