An I Wish/Wonder and BTW thread...
Maybe we could use this thread to post the various ideas for improvements (that sometimes already exist but we just don't know how to find them/use them). There seem to be a lot of feedback threads. Some of them start with "I wish or I wonder."

I WISH if new items are added to your database it would bring them up after it adds them so that you could add how much your cost was... You can search for items that don't have prices after the fact in the database, (cool!!) but it's just another step I have to remember to do. Maybe a note on that little box that pops up after you add the new items to database could say, "Remember to input the price paid for these items and take your vitamins!" Okay, not the last part!:) ~ Mimi (Please read my Guest Book: Requesting Guide Help) _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons

I WONDER if I change the sales prices on items in the database before I paste my sales history if the sales history updates the database price? Are these two connected? Do the two tables have relationships? I can test this but wondered if you cool people had already figured this out. Also, does anyone know what happens to an item that is on your sales history but hasn't been added to your database yet? Sometimes I forget to add it first... Answering the first question probably answers this but spell it out for me, please:) ~ Mimi (Please read my Guest Book: Requesting Guide Help) _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons

BTW, I used the "assign mall prices" once and it totally messed up several prices because all the key quest items were waaaay over-valued! My prices stayed the same but what I paid for them was plugged in for me... great concept though! How are these values assigned since portal doesn't connect to neopets? ~ Mimi (Please read my Guest Book: Requesting Guide Help) _____________________________________________________ Mimi's Ménagerie: Healthy Tastes Good Here! http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons

Sales history but not added to database - if you have the ignore non database ticked nothing, if not ticked I think it adds it to database.

What the Portal Sales History Page do is add all the MALL PRICES for /SALES/, and subtract the COST from MALL PRICE and add them all up to know the /PROFITS/ - AND, the Portal Sales History page gets the MALL PRICE and COST from the DATABASE. (caps for emphasis) So, it should be noted that you should first input the sales to the Portal Sales History page before you change prices in the database to know your true sales and profits For your second question, if you check the /Ignore Non-database/ checkbox in the settings portion of the Portal Sales History page, and the item that is newly added is not in the database, then it will not be included in the sales and profits stats. And you wouldn't know if it went out of stock or not. So you should add first the items. So the level of importance is: 1. Add new items 2. Paste Sales History 3. Update prices of database items Hope this helps :) _______________________________________________ Bugsy's GUIDE to Effective SHOPKEEPING and MALLING: Version 3: Learn More About Hut Positioning Edition http://www.neopets.com/~bugsy_lenny

Where can we find it? :D _______________________________________________ Bugsy's GUIDE to Effective SHOPKEEPING and MALLING: Version 3: Learn More About Hut Positioning Edition http://www.neopets.com/~bugsy_lenny

I thought Dmitri closed the online database of prices. Well, the prices were very, very outdated so it is better if you yourself are going to look up the items in the shop wizard and entering the shop wiz price. It doesn't connect /directly/ to neopets because these prices came from people who look up the prices in the shop wiz. These prices did not come from neopets itself. :) _______________________________________________ Bugsy's GUIDE to Effective SHOPKEEPING and MALLING: Version 3: Learn More About Hut Positioning Edition http://www.neopets.com/~bugsy_lenny

I wish there were some kind of toggle button to include the item in your Regular Stock or Special Stock. I have core items that I really need to be sure are in my shop at all times and then others that don't matter so much. I think the default setting should be to add it to your regular stock but being able to click the button at the "new items found, do you want to add them to your database" window would be best. I mostly use portal for the pricing feature -- a place to keep all my prices for items and don't like that I keep deleting items from the database, adding them back, repeat. I have to do this to get a "good" list of what is out of stock. Right now it says I have 240 items out of stock when really it's about 25 items -- the others are just me keeping up with prices. I have the Avatar/Packrat/Random category. I would like to be sure I stock the must-haves first and fill-in with the non-essential items second. I could see this helping others with quest items vs. non-quest items. _____________________________________________________ ~ Mimi's Ménagerie Avatars ~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=temps_bons&misc

I wish... A few days ago I added a Tyrannian Petpet Paint Brush to my item DB via pasting my shop front. I normally do it manually from the items DB page so that way I remember to put in how much I buy the item for. Since I didn't do it the way I normally do, I forgot to add in the buy price. One sells, I put the info in the Sales History thing, process, then wonder how in the world I just made 130k from the sales I put in. Oh wait, I forgot to put in the buy price, so it automatically assumes I paid 1np (or 0) for that item. Now my tracker says I made a ton of neopoints on that day (I didn't), that the Tyrannian Paint Brush is my #1 profit item (it isn't), and my overall sales statistics are now inaccurate. I wish (yes, I finally made it to this part :p) that there was someway to go back and edit my sales so that way whenever I screw up, my statistics and stuff won't get messed up. .:| Paint Brushes |:. http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=heartlessness_&banner
