Hacked?

I'm sure some of you have heard by now but I thought I'd tell you what happened with hopes it doesn't happen to anyone else: I had been online Wednesday buying everything on half price day (my favorite shopping day) & I signed out about 11:00 PM. Thursday afternoon when I tried to log in I kept getting "Invalid password" So I checked everything & tried again. I logged into my daughters account & looked me up & noticed it said "Last seen: Under One Day" That is when I knew someone hacked into my account. Luckily I did have PIN numbers. So I sent an email to TNT & within an hour my account was disabled. I called in today & he told me it should take them 2 days to straighten it out. I just hope Saturday is considered a day. I really thought all the cookie grabbers was a thing of the past but it looks to me as if its not so be careful & if you haven't added PIN numbers to your till or your bank account I would suggest that you do. i cant be sure, i just thought so from what i have seen. people keep saying they were stocking their shops or buying stuff on neo and then BAM hacked :/ really, its beyond my understanding why tnt doesnt fix their security :(

Hey Texas. So sorry this happened to you!!! At least you've been in contact with them and it sounds like you should get it back My friend got hacked the other day and her nps were gone from the back, even though she had a pin on it!!! I didnt even know that could happen???

Hmmm. I dont know. I just read yesterday that it's possible to run bad code off a simple "jpg" image. Need to look into that more and then disable that feature on this site if needed

As far as I know.. key loggers can be attached to a jpg, but in that instance I believe you would still have to download the file or open it via email and that activates the exe part of it. there is an instance of jpeg via viewing it in your browser, but I *think* you had to use the properties selection and "view image". Last I heard it was patched with SP2 (not sure about vista) texas was also stocking from shops, so we aren't 100% sure where she picked it up. I had heard about around of people not too long ago happening upon it while stocking and finding "good deals" It kept me out of the sniping scene for at least a month until I stopped hearing any mention of it. texas.. dont give up hope yet. It might take you several emails back and forth, but I believe you will get your account back! Hang in there hun!

Well if it's been patched in SP2, i think vista is ok since Vista SP1 or even vista without any service packs came out much later. But who knows, there might be another hole =/

Sorry about your account and I hope it all gets straightened out soon. :( A friend of mine lost her draik and her account recently too. I don't think she has any indicaton of when she'll get it back. Another person I know lost her pet when someone broke into her account and she was told she can't get it back (not sure if either one had a PIN). It just seems like things are picking up again, though I guess that can also be because school is out for a lot of people.

Thank you all so much for all the sweet & thoughtful well wishes. I did get my account back today *clap* But my bank acct was emptied even though I had a PIN number I guess those don't work *cry* But I am so happy to be back. Hopefully I'll have my shop priced tonight & be back in the top 20 tomorrow :D Thank you once again Dmitri for this awesome site.
