Main Market size jumped to 1130??? o.O

I check the minimum main market size today and saw it was 1130!! I remember that 2 years ago it was around 650 ... That's a huge leap! This probably means that who ever isn't in the main market now will never make it there! Quite a shock. But it also makes me wonder if it's worth it. I mean upgrading to that size must cost way over 100 million.

Restocking books - is it still worth it?

I used to really enjoy restocking books: I would just sit in the shop and buy almost everything I saw because most items were a profit. Now I've returned to Neopets after a break and I find it very hard to make a profit anymore! Many rare books seem to have deflated a lot (Tarla?). I can only make small profits of the most common books (I supposed the Water faerie asks for them a lot) and earn between 200 and 800 NP per book. Not much! I restock those in bulk but profits and sales, too, are slow.

Category or No?

I have a little bit of experience in restocking but I've been gone for a few months and don't really remember what is good for stocking other than pizza, and I never really made a large amount of profit from pizza. It was very little at a time.
At size 37 would it be in my best interest to stick to one category? If so what category would you recommend? I currently have 14k on hand and 375,529 in the bank, but I'd like to not pull much out of the bank, as I am trying to get my daily interest up.

Learning About My Customers

I'm pretty selfish when it comes to re-stocking my store, I love "collecting" and then selling books. I rarely think of the customer.
But I'm thinking, why do people buy books? I see a few reasons,
a.) To increase intelligence (but correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't need to read THAT many books for an intelligent pet right?).
b.) To try and get one of the book awards (this is a minority group).
c.) An avid book collector (pretty unlikely, although if I weren't selling books I'd definitely be collecting them!).
d.) Sell them for higher.
e.) Quest?

I run a small shop on Neopets (on a new main account, I've practically abandoned my 4+ years old one for all but the AAA) which specialises in books, I really enjoy collecting books for my customers and selling them (I restock every Sunday, so my stock can look a bit pathetic quickly as the week goes on, but I like it that way - loyal customers can be rewarded and find great deals by bookmarking and checking the store on a Sunday from 2PM NST onwards).

Don't make this newb mistake like I just did.

Make sure you backup your NM portal data, whether by email or external storage. I just did a system restore and totally forgot about my data, now its all gone. On one hand I'm glad I only put 52 items worth into it on the new profile, and not 100+. On the other hand, THOSE 52 ITEMS TOOK TIME, UGH! There's no way I'll remember what I bought them all for, which is pretty crucial if I want to systematically drop prices and still turn profit above a minimum. And I won't be able to track actual profits I made of them.
