Mall Ethics (or lack of)

I think it would be interesting to open up a discussion on "mall ethics", this might even help the new mallers/malls not step on toes so to speak. So what are the "unspoken rules" of malling that you know of? :)

Don't spam slow boards like customization chat with like "Buying with 5 million" and ANOTHER thread on the same board such as "CHEAP xxx in my shop". Also dont advertise your shop on the BD chat. no one there is stupid enough to buy from you. You just make a complete fool of yourself and subject yourself to mass reporting if you spam it like a bot. I always hated when people just changed there banners to a new (different) mall without mentioning it much giving any notice to their previous mall. I've seen people that bounced around so quickly they were still listed in a couple malls they had abandoned. That's just rude if not deceitful. And how about people joining a mall and then stocking a general merchandise shop. If you join a mall, choose a category and stick to it! And keep your stock up! Not having what people are looking for reflects poorly on the entire mall.

Oh... And when you see a mall manager or member posting on the Shop Chat that they're hiring, and they have a list of positions, don't ask, "Is Books open?" If it's NOT LISTED that means it's taken. Same goes for... "Can I join your mall? I have a size 2 shop!" Um... Requirement is 100. Not 1. I don't even respond to these on the SC, I just ignore and keep bumping the thread.

As in, you are being asked a question about your stock or something, and then they just ignore you. I don't know how many times I have sent off a mail telling a maller that I saw their shop stock was low and I hope they are okay, and if I can do anything to help or give them ideas about what to stock let me know. Then, nothing. Mostly, I'm not a mind reader, and if it is something that requires a reply, one is nice. I don't mean a mall update mail or a pay your fees mail. If nothing needs to be said, that's totally different.

We have a mall Guild but not everyone is involved cause many belong to other guilds. When Cris was running the Nursery I was in the forum, I still may even have a signon, Oh that was a million malling years ago LOL! There are alot of family connections in our two mall's and there are also alot of close and dear friendships that have developed. When we lost our original ownership and it was a special person that went to bat and got us a new owner that we all trusted. There were 5 malls for the poor owner all at once. Then all at once most of the people moved on, or built their own mall but in the case of the Mini we have become like a little family all our own growing together for the same goals without the pressures of (you must upgrade 400 times this month Oh and the new Nb ad has changed yesterday from 1,000 a person to 10,000 a person. We each have our thing and inter communicate. When someone is down we bring them up or help with shopping if necessary due to life etc. Maybe this is wrong and I am not aware but it is trading fairly so I do not see the problem. I have had people loose their accounts and we have helped with rebuilds not just here but in other malls too. I think it really makes the difference at the end of the day. One thing that my Supervisor reminds me of (and it is either that male/female difference or the age difference) but he reminds me to be patient. I do get worried/ (some could even say spazzy) :P when someone has not been on for a month when they have not been MIA EVER for longer then a day or a vacation. I really get worried and then I am just watching for a signon not even a response is important. I know it is a game but there are some real life feelings that get attached when you have these long term situations, and in the end I think it makes you a stronger mall. I have had people move into the MM and miss us because we are a little crazy in our own little mini worlds LOL! Guess I needed to Gab sorry to bore ya'll! Its not very difficult in our mall, since we have our own forum... We set up a forum poll and tell everyone to vote by such and such a date. We do that for shop sizes quite often. We have shop upgrade requirements that are divided into brackets... smaller shops have to upgrade more, larger shops a little less.
