I can tell you there are loads of rumors flying around with what is happening. If I hear something I haven't seen myself and it sounds serious I go to the internet to search it out. Was watching the coverage all day while at work. One of the benefits of working for the cable company I guess. Didn't see anything come up about a volcano. Doesn't mean it isn't happening just that is not the main focus. Right now the focus seems to be the power plants and getting those under control. Clearing people of those areas seems to be key as some of the news reports have stated up to 160 with radiation. Also searching for survivors. The weather is still quite cold there. Some of the coverage showed snow falling. The colder weather may actually help with a few things but if it gets too cold it could cause problems. Prayer at this time would be good. Any way you can help might be good too. Donations of items are going to be needed. Food, clothes, water not only for adults but also children and pets. You name it they are going to need it. Money is helpful too. If one can find a reputable place maybe like Red Cross or something similar to that to make donations. Troops and other relief efforts are underway in trying to get more help there and required items. Japan has a lot of people in a very small space so the number of people affected are going to be great! Still counting our lucky stars that we didn't get hit. Okinawa is a speck on the map compared to mainland Japan. Our little island would have been completely devastated:( Stay strong Japan in each other and your culture. God Bless for a speedy recovery! Gwennie thank you for the well thoughts! Very thankful. Words can't even express how fortunate. My family was scattered across the island of Okinawa during this event. We all would have been separated and having to handle things separately. The thought of that as a mom and as a wife just brings me to tears even thinking about it. Did I say...Thank the Lord! Currently the radiation being release in not enough to do any harm to humans (per the news). The evacuations and requests for everyone to stay indoors is a precautionary measure they have taken. Remember that the news in only reporting the stuff that will get people to watch it. Progress in a forward position doesn't sell as much as all the negative bound stuff that captivates the world. The news two days ago here in NZ said that the Japanese govt had confirmed that the levels are high enough to harm humans. They said they had been treating folks with radiation sickness who were very close to the reactors. Reports of this morning said the levels have fallen back some, though. They seem to be so concerned with radiation levels of Tokyo, but what about the people who live right near the plant? Not all of them evacuated, apparently :( Media is dumb, honestly. Also, Japan is good at controlling their media, just like the US. They always have been. Everyone keeps comparing this meltdown threat with what happened in Russia, but the two events are very different from each other.

I did find some stuff yesterday about the volcano. That is not on mainland Japan. That is on another island of Japan. Could be related to the recent earthquakes. If I remember it actually started up ealier in the week before the big quake hit. Could have been a first sign that a bigger quake was coming. Earthquakes happen when the plates shift. Thinking yah...plates shifting could definitely awaken a sleeping volcano. Still pulling for the people of Japan. Pulling that the relief gets there soon for them. A Simple Thank You Goes a Long Way!
