I would love to try this category out but wonder if it would make enough profit to cover nb fees Clothing, Grooming, Wearables & Backgrounds~ http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=ladytaelorae

I agree with zariaca, most of my hits are from ssw and i just don't think it would work for me pricing above that. I do get several hits from mall members but not that many from nb ads and rarely any from my hut even though i have tried to keep at or near the top of the hut.

When my shop was still small, I experimented with several different categories, and actually collectible cards was the best. It had the highest sales volume and the cards moved quickly. I would have to agree with what most of the others have said, though, that the trick is you have to keep low prices and keep the stock moving. Whether that is good or bad depends on your restocking style. Some people enjoy mass buying 30 of something at a time then just adding a few of that item back into inventory several times a day. This is pretty low stress, easy going, and if this is what you enjoy, it would be a great category for you. On the other hand, if your style is more to stock only 1 or 2 of each item, and wiz-search and re-buy the item every time it sells out, this category would be a real hassle. I think cards is like books - very competitive, so you have to keep your prices (on the cheaper, more popular stuff) within the first few at the bottom of super wiz. That means maybe making only 200 - 300 np on each item. If you're a mass restocker and can handle profit by quantity, that's fine. Personally, I don't have the np to mass restock, so I prefer a category that sells less items per day, but at a greater profit margin for each. I don't keep any extra items in my SDB because I'm investing all the np in increasing my shop size. If I had more np, though, to keep more of each item in my SDB, I wouldn't mind loading items back into inventory several times a day. I used to do that with fast moving battledome items and it was very enjoyable. Bottom line: Collectible cards sell quickly as long as the prices are among the lowest on superwiz. Whether that is good or bad depends on your personal restocking style. :) ~ Love books? Please visit my bookshop. :) http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=lolooma

Not very good for malling purposes, but great for getting money to expand my shop until its a good malling size. :D I don't know if I'll stay in collectables or not, if I do I'll have plenty of malls and NB ads to choose from. *lol* Neopian Wholesale Cards - Great for mallers who need to restock http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=neosider410&banner

Interesting topic! When I first started doing collectables it was over the holidays and I was so ecstatic with the way my sales were going, I just couldn't believe that people would avoid the category. I generally priced my items about 1k+ over the highest price on the ssw and stocked in bulk because I was tired of spending all day every day restocking. Once the holiday season ended my sales dropped dramatically, and are still not doing that well (although it seems a bit better than it was a month and a half ago). I don't get a lot of hits, but the people that do come into my shop often buy between 4-40 items at a time and I am still holding out hope that the summer months will be better. :D I think that if I dropped my prices a little my sales would definitely improve, but I am happier to have more profit/less sales for the time being because I'm fairly busy anyways. I have to agree with the others that Coco's shop is fantastic, I often restock there and always wondered how she was making any profit, but she must be doing something right since I believe her shop size was about 520 a few months ago and she's up to 651. :) Congrats Gill!!

I use &misc for the Mallers' League Plaza, even though they set it up wrong :( Neopian Wholesale Cards - Great for mallers who need to restock http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=neosider410&banner
