Those catchy phrases
Submitted by Shannara on Sun, 27/12/2009 - 5:46pm
Advertising on the boards is past time of mine and I've seen many catch phrases some good and some bad.
What are some catchy phrases do you all use?
I change mine around sometimes to sound like a t.v. commercial because it amuses me and other times I keep it vague to make sure people click on the link.
Sometimes when they know what you sell, they won't check out your shop :p .
My current ad is:
^.^ I've just restocked
and will continue to do so...
So come inside and check it out...
Be an adventurer... Click on the link
Its not the smoothest one, but for the moment it will do.

Best Way To Sell Maps
Submitted by evilbluemunkeyz on Sun, 27/12/2009 - 5:24pm
So I just started malling and I know I took a harder category of doing maps but I was wondering if others with this shop have any ideas to really get the map pieces moving. Right now I'm slowly adding more and more pieces and just trying to stay close to lowest SW prices and sniping a few pieces along the way.
Plus I added in WC Pieces since they basically are maps in a way.
Suggestions?
Thanks!

How do you liven it up?
Submitted by Shannara on Sat, 26/12/2009 - 10:27pm
As the topic states, how do you all liven up your shop? Its gets boring just stocking the items over anf over again.
I was thinking of expandingmy category (petpets) to include books relating to petpets, petpet paint burshes(when I get the money), petpetpets, and other stuff.
Do you guys do the same?

I've already started to incorporate other categorical items dealing with petpets, its not much, just a few books, but its a start.

toy inflation
Submitted by kieke25 on Sat, 26/12/2009 - 2:48am
I haven't been able to restock my toy / plushie shop since the beginning of december. Yesterday I finally started to restock it. And OMG, a few toys have inflated from being 1000 - 5000 nps to over 100k! And that in a couple of days.. And I don't have those in my SDB.. *cry*
One of it being Rubber Toy Bow and Arrow, and a couple of toys from an old plot.
If it only was 1 item, I wouldn't bother to much for asking, but it's been at least 3, and I haven't even restocked half of my shop, so there's probably a few more that I will find.
What happened? Did I miss a big event?

Would it be a good choice?
Submitted by bionicgirl11 on Fri, 25/12/2009 - 2:02pm
I want to have a packrat shop and I have enough room for 270 items. I buy all my items 25 np or less and sell everything for 50-100np, after a while do you think I would earn much profit?
I'm not looking for a bunch of profit just enough to keep upgrading my shop and I'm size 54.
Do you think it's a good idea? I've tried a bunch of categories before including packrat

How are your shops?

Just out of curiosity, how are your shops faring, categorical wise?
I have been selling petpets since the beginning and it has its ups and downs, like now with certain petpets after Key Quest started, but I still make a hefty profit daily( about 100k).

What's your first thought when you are bought out?
Submitted by Shannara on Thu, 24/12/2009 - 12:13am
This is a first for me. After I completely restocked my shop (300 items) at around 3 am (12 am NST) a few hours later I was bought out by three people! One person bought the bulk of it. I was really happy but then I cringed and felt like crawling into a hole and never coming out at the thought of having to restock everything again.

Aunt Lilly's wonderful Wearables! *snicker* (Mall/Shop pricing)
Submitted by lilly on Wed, 23/12/2009 - 6:06pm
"People like the names of mothers, grandmothers and other relatives on their menus, and research shows they are much more likely to buy, say, Grandma’s zucchini cookies, burgers freshly ground at Uncle Sol’s butcher shop this morning and Aunt Phyllis’s famous wedge salad."

So should I rename my Shop Aunty Lilly's amazing wearables? =p
I wonder how a mall with a 'home cooked' type of name would do. And Aunty, Granny, Uncle categories.
