Main Market: Get there slowly or make the leap?

So I originally had this goal of getting to Main Market by the end of the summer, going slowly, doing occasional upgrades. But many people have been talking about great summer sales. So Ive been considering if it would be advantageous for me to make the leap to main market now, and maximize my summer sales. I could sell off I couple gallery items to fund the leap and they would be hidden tower items so that I could rebuy them at about the same price (SoS and Pbs). Another thing to consider is that I will be staying in the same mall (which isnt main market, but min size is 390 I think). So I wont get any advantage of main mallers linking to me, it would just be my shop moving up into a main hut. Any comments /suggestions/etc are welcome =)

Well since I started this thread, I jumped from 460 to 512. Now Im trying to sell items and save to make the push to Main :) What is your category? Do you know of a spot in a main mall that its open in? I think if you had the chance to join a main market mall, then it would be worth it :)

I stock food. :P I just got a lead on a decent mall (not main) that had food open. Now that Neo is up I'm going to send them a neomail. *fingers crossed* But still, I think I'm going to keep my head up for main malls with decent opening and maybe I'll take the plunge of selling almost all my belongings and probably changing my entire stock

Decided to go for it. Started selling my precious BD set. Just went from 236 - 270 in like 5 minutes. x.x

Don't be scurred :P Make the jump, it's worth it. And you should be open to taking a different spot if need be. Change is good :p

Wish I could make the leap! I definitely would. Right now I'm doing as others mentioned & upgrading through to the top of my hut. Yesterday I upgraded to the top and like 5 friggin' minutes later someone pushed me down. I was pissed! I upgraded to the top of the next but after that heavy blow I'm too scared to check again. So I'll pretend I'm still there to make myself feel happy and then in a couple of days I'll take a look.

It's not impossible :D Just keep working at it! Thanks for the advice, peetree :D Since I started this thread, I decided to try and sell off items to get to main quicker. Got more "proactive" about it :P I went from size 460 to 512 so far, spending 5mil. Now I need another 9.8m to get to 600. I got about 2.5m so far :D Im *trying* to sell off random UBs (and SDB items) to get there, without needing to sell any gallery items... but Ill probably end up getting impatient and sell stuff cause my last UBs arent selling too quick :P Luckily, I wont have to change categories, so Im very happy about that! :D My branch in Roo Island (Land of Roo) is making the move to main market... encouraging members to upgrading, changing the min shop size to join and also starting 4mil ads :D We arent really main yet, but it's moving there, so Im happy with that ^_^ Good luck to everyone working on main!! I've been malling almost 2 years now :P just dont give up
