I'm not really worth a two cent comment, but lurking I feel the need to post a penny of a thought. (Worst set up ever XD) If in 10 Years there will be no original things about neopets, I'd like to see somebodies attempt at any kind of neomallers portal before Dmitri made the functional idea. I know that the nooks and crannies of my mind can pull out ideas that have not been ventured yet, it would take a lot of impossible for every idea to be used up. Dmitri has put hard work into his mall, and also this site. If you had come here shouting "I'm going to take Xmart's idea of linking everything in the world!" that would be rude. On the other hand, I personally do not feel that having the idea to link a button through multiple malls is an Xmart copyright permission needing content. I did not previously know that the Xmart malls did that, and I had an idea of liking malls in a similar way sometime in the past week that I slightly remember. It sounds like an innocent attempt at a good idea. Then a few posts later, _redhead99_ mentions that the Xmart malls have a similar system. Shannara agrees that the Xmart malls would make a great model for their buttons. P4Ssoa waves a voice of warning that Dmitri doesn't like his work being copied and that this won't be the best system, and I inferred that they also meant that it's something that could be modified to best suit a non main mall anyways. Some discussion begins about the up sides and down sides of buttons. Shannara says if anything is thought to be a problem, Dmitri would be a good person to ask. A few posts later irisheyez makes a comment that gets taken offensively, instead of just what I feel means that you should either actually ask Dmitri about his feelings on so closely following his linking ideas, or to change the idea so that nobody gets frustrated. New paragraph since that might get to be an eyesore. irisheyez and Dmitri both just add a few facts on how much trouble it would be to do something too much different, yet how rude it would be to copy Xmarts idea without asking. o0_hyper takes it to be an attack on them, and irisheyez mildly corrects that it was not near to an attack. evilbluemunkeyz very subtly says in essence "no reason to fight about a problem that neither side has started. Just be polite and there won't be an argument" *Guess who just found out he can't spell Argument without spell check XD* Dmitri then makes what I would take to be a friendly joke about how he wouldn't like you to copy him, but all he can really do is ban you from this site if he were to get mad about it, and then gives an example of what he would really say if he wanted to attack you on something so trivial. angel_shortcake tries to just say "I won't take sides, but..." and kinda lost me, so I continued onto the next post. irisheyez notes that still nobody has apologized (Or really even asked) to Dmitri for trying to justify using his idea. o0_hyper asks if this huge discussion is necessary. The thought comes to mind with all the analogies that don't really do much makes me think of Xmart as a kindergarten baby getting a face lift. o0_hyper gets a bit too sarcastic for the situation and everyone else seems to either start stating facts or say that there's no point to arguing, at this point the argument seems to be about weather or not any apologize should be made to Dmitri or not. bugsybogis makes a point that we should be human and be polite, ask to borrow so that we never have to copy. irisheyez and Shannara seem to try to decide who's more dramatic, and that leads me to here. Personally I don't see the point. This good idea has a technical owner of it, and it should be run by him first. There is no real thing holding to this but politeness and the part of we are all human (Except possibly Dmitri) and values are being forgotten in these days, and there has been good cause to reinforce them. I leave with my opinion, and a cheesy siggy... but no cheese for you. This is one of the few times, I will ever write on the boards to the people that know me well. The idea of interlinking mall is NOT a new idea at all. Back about 5 years ago the PMC Malls did it. It didn't work and we left it go. Dmitri as come up with a brilliant way to make it work! We used to have an unwriting code between mall owners, Don't take mall name, don't go head hunting for other peoples mallers and steal graphics. I do miss the old days.

i dont think anyone said about it being xmart copyright. i already expected it to be adopted anyways. i mean even lesser stuff got adopted real fast. like i said in an earlier post, by all means, go use it. just dont copy the banners word for word style for style color for color like what some other main malls do. as for neomallers, there is already another invite-only sales tracker (no idea on the feature list but i reckon it tracks sales) site but for some whatever reason, i was refused that invite so i went ahead and created a new one based on my needs (profit tracking, out of stock check) p.s i only ban users that try to mess the server up or spam links to certain sites (but then again those arent real users anyways)

iprice? ive seen that mentioned before but no idea except it deals with pricing? :p anyways its neowishlists. their admin hates my guts now though. i think neohangout is another too and that admin gave me an invite... unfortunately that only tracks sales like the web based one. and yes i regret calling this site neomallers. i realized too late that so many sites have neo in it: sunnyneo,cloudneo,jellyneo neofaerie neodaq to name a few

Oh boy, this got indeed completely out of hand. I unfortunately don't have much time to reply here (as I still want 2 eggs and some bacon for breakfast), but I just want to say this was only an idea. It has not been discussed with our mall manager. Secondly I have read in posts from at least 3 different people that no one has even considered asking dimitri.. Please note that I actually did say we shouldn't copy it and if we were serious about this idea we should really ask dimitri. (read post 46) Like others have said before, no permission is needed to copy something, because it isn't copyrighted, but hey we are playing an online game! It's just the right thing to do! About having copied stuff from other malls petpages; I did not know this. This really is the first thing I hear about it. If this is true, and if we do not have permission to copy pieces of code by these malls, I will personally create a new petpage.
