Wretched Restocking Wrist - ouch! :(
Does anyone have any tricks up their sleeve for how to deal with this horrible terribly sore hands and arm thing I keep getting from restocking? My mouse hand is just shot. The whole arm hurts like heck and has been hurting for about 3 weeks - ever since I did a really huge restock (about 400 different items at one time). It hurts when I type or click and sometimes hurts so bad I just can't continue. I don't think it's carpal tunnel, because it's not my wrist that hurts, it's my whole arm. Does this happen to anyone else? Does anyone have a cure for it? I tried on wrist braces at the drug store, but they felt too bulky and I didn't think I could type with them on. Any suggestions? It's probably just RSI, I first got it myself about a year and a half ago from over doing the stocking. I recommend just taking a break from stocking until it eases. I know that ends up making your shop in an even worse state but yeah. Avoid stocking, and generally using the mouse until it's feeling better and then take it steady for a few days after.

I've wished I could try that, but I have to type and use the mouse for my job, too (I work 7 days a week) so I don't know how I could rest it. How long did you have to rest it for? ~ Love books? Please visit my bookshop. :) http://www.neopets.com/browseshop.phtml?owner=lolooma

It's been different each time depending on how long i've put up with the pain and therefore led to it being worse. I think the longest i've left it is about a week (it still hurt then but I couldn't cope with my shop being a mess any longer so I started stocking again 0:-)) It definately sounds like RSI if you are using computers in the work place too. Does your company have anything set up or any awareness for it? At a place I worked before they had someone you should go to if you experienced any problems like that. Also the doctors may be another route, while they probably wont be able to do much, still good to get stuff checked out, three weeks is an awfully long time to be in pain.

Get an intellimouse. It has built in buttons for back/forward browser functions. If you use the ssw, use ctrl+W to close the window once you're done buying. when the person has multiple stuff in stock, hover the mouse over the item and repeatedly press enter. Works great in opera and even with 4 hours of non-stop restocking, you hardly notice it :P

Ouch :( you could purchase a drawing table or other alternative to a computer mouse, but that could slow you down, making restocking very tricky. Good luck :O

work suggested switching hands and using your other hand for sore wrists--really weird and hard to get use to--but helps Oh--my mouse has a macro button that I set up to jump to the next tab for the nest store off the ssw.. I sometimes use "linky" on firefox. It opens multiple links at once and puts them all in new tabs--then I use my macro button to jump from store to store. Books!
