Yeah, I saw Adam say on the forums for his new games that the way Neo is set up they can't change usernames or it would really, really be a lot of work. (People were ranting there when a bunch had the same thing happen last year.) I tried to find the exact post but, well, realized there were better ways to spend my time. =P

It all depends on the site's coding, but if it were possible to just change the username without problematic consequences, they would have rather than have him change account. I'll admit I'd be quite upset too if something like this were to happen but your best bet is to remain polite with the staff, they'll be far more inclined to help accommodate you this way. Take the time to make well structured sentences while explaining your point, it will make a better impression =)

Yep. If the account is tied to the user id number (when you click my name, you'll see the url change to user/1 ) then the name can be changed.
